The bigger the fight, the better the meal.

In, perhaps, the silliest commercial for a cable or satellite TV service we have ever seen, Director Adam Huber put together this spec spot for DirecTV which has us believing the service is so good, you’d crawl into bed with it, give it a cuddle and maybe even have sex with it.
We anxiously await contact from DirecTV asking us to remove this drivel from the interwebs even though, repeat after me, THIS IS A SPEC SPOT.
General Motors is returning to the Super Bowl after sitting out of the big game in 2013. The news was first reported by Variety.
The auto giant’s Chevrolet has purchased commercial time in conjunction with the launch of 12 new cars and trucks between mid-2013 and the end of 2014, according to the company.
“The timing of Super Bowl XLVIII lines up perfectly with our aggressive car and truck launch plans,” Tim Mahoney, Chevrolet global chief marketing officer, said in a statement. “The Super Bowl is a great stage for showcasing the Chevrolet brand and our newest cars and trucks.”

Tire company Goodyear launches its new summer tire EfficientGrip Performance with an unusual marketing idea. The paddlewheel of Hamburg’s famous steamboat “Louisiana Star” was covered with a special design that transforms it into an almost 7 meter high tire. The paddle wheel-tire was seen in the Port of Hamburg and on the river Elbe.

Twenty-five years ago, Jeff Goodby and Rich Silverstein got their first big break when they landed the Royal Viking Cruise Line account, which at the time spent $10 million, almost all of it print advertising.
Back then, it was a big deal — especially because they won the business in a pitch against Hal Riney, their ad mentor. Fast forward to today, and Goodby Silverstein & Partners is getting back into the cruising industry.
The Omnicom Group shop has been named lead agency for Princess Cruises and will be responsible for an integrated marketing push that launches in early 2014.

Mexican stationery company Scribe won a Bronze Lion in Cannes for its "Scribe Billboard" campaign, in which artist Cecilia Beaven lived inside a blank billboard like a shoemaker's elf for 10 days and added illustrations to it based on tweets from the public. (The finished work can be seen above.) The illustrations have now been turned into a 60-second cartoon by Vetor Zero/Lobo, and the results—featuring characters like a rabbit DJ, a surfing giraffe and a taxi driving Pegasus—wouldn't be out of place on Adult Swim. Really. I could see something like this paired with Adventure Time, no problem. Via The Inspiration Room.
