NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission: Variations on a Hail
Posted in: Uncategorized
“Variations on a Hail” is a funny and educational video airing specifically on NYC taxi televisions. With a voiceover and appearance by NYC Taxi and Limousine Commissioner David Yassky listing all of the tried and true hailing “techniques,” the spot culminates with the most technologically advanced “hail” in history – the TLC smartphone app that will allow users to contact nearby taxicabs. The app promises to make life easier should New Yorkers find themselves in need of a ride in an unfamiliar part of the city, late at night, or while rushing to their next appointment.

Adbusters Tactical Briefing #43
Posted in: UncategorizedWe thrill the world by shutting Goldman Sachs down on May Day.
EMMANUEL DUNAND / AFP/ GETTYIMAGES
#GOLDMAN:
How to Play:
This year’s May Day could be a major tipping point for the
political left worldwide. Here’s a classic quote
from Matt Taibbi that clues you in to what’s at stake:
“Goldman Sachs, the world’s most
powerful investment bank is a great vampire squid wrapped around the
face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything
that smells like money.”
Next week, on May 1st, let’s hone in on a single target, the
top evildoer — that unrepentant corporation that continues to
flaunt its money-worshiping criminality and reward its CEO Lloyd
Blankfein. His persistent grin is getting a little too hard to
bear.
Goldman Sachs has 73 offices in 56 cities worldwide … On May
Day, come have some fun with us in front of every one of them.
We’re going to thrill the world by shutting down this criminal
corporation for a few hours with our voices and our right to the
people’s assembly – let’s wipe that grin off Lloyd
Blankfein’s face!
Get the address of the #Goldman location nearest you at Meetup, then recruit friends on
Facebook,
Twitter
and in real life … see you out there!
for the wild,
Culture Jammers HQ
P.S.
This ongoing #GOLDMAN campaign will have another big bang moment on
May 23 when Goldman Sachs holds its shareholder meeting in Salt Lake
City.
Catch up on the #GOLDMAN gameplay thus far:

Is Kenny F&#%ing Powers Endorsing the HTC One?
Posted in: UncategorizedA correction has been made in this story. See below for details.
Did HTC just land power-pitchman Danny McBride to flog its HTC One? Someone claiming to be his alter ego, Kenny Powers, the character from HBO’s hit comedy series “Eastbound & Down,” has been tweeting endorsements for AT&T and HTC’s latest smartphone, as well as tweaking Apple.
And while it turns out that the entity called @KFUCKINGP, despite having a massive Twitter following, is not officially associated with the show or HBO, HTC did get a phone in the hands of the Twitter user.

The first tweet began on Monday with Mr. Powers’ Twitter handle, @KFUCKINGP, demanding HTC or AT&T help him obtain an HTC One, “por favor.”
Hot Young Things Urge Couch Potatoes to Exercise
Posted in: UncategorizedVisual effects company Light of Day teamed with the WAT-AHH! Foundation, a brand of bottled water for kids and teens, to create a PSA promoting the third annual “Move Your Body” event, to be held in New York and Los Angeles on May 1.
The event will gather 250,000 kids from over 600 schools nationwide. Light of Day co-founder and director Charles Nordeen directed the spot which supports First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move!” initiative
The PSA features a collection of hot, young stars including Austin Mahone, Bella Thorne, Blake Michael, Carly Rae Jepsen, Coco Jones, Eve, Jacob Latimore, Jada Grace, Jessica Sanchez, Luke James, Madison Beer, Mindless Behavior, Perez Hilton, and The Wanted.
This is what’s referred to as aspirational marketing. Show all the fatties what they could look like if only they got all their asses and stopped playing video games all day. Of course, this could also result in, “Fuck it, I’m never gonna look as hot as Jessica Sanchez!”
MAD school (Chatsworth Mediart Academy): The world’s smallest Open House
Posted in: Uncategorized
Presenting the world’s smallest open house by MAD school (Chatsworth Mediart Academy). Another Dimension: Simply put, it’s where you discover far more interesting things. Viewed through the right lens, another dimension appears. Very much like what MAD does. Short for Marketing Advertising and Design, our integrated diploma is the only one in Asia that adds another dimension to your view on creativity and strategic thinking. Meaning you won’t see things the way you used to. Heck, you won’t see things the way others do. That’s why our student work win awards like D&AD and Crowbar. Enter Another Dimension–A quirky digital projection mapping showcase of our award-winning student work, which takes place indoor but visible outdoor to Clarke Quay–why deal with confines when there’s another dimension? Another perk includes instant fame as your face shot becomes a part of our digital projection mapping showcase. All because we’re MAD.

Infographic: Where to Go on a First Date
Posted in: Uncategorized
San Francisco-based designer Alex Cornell slapped together an instructional chart about where to go on a first date, and I have to say he's pretty much on point. In some cases, he's even being too nice. Anyone who takes a first date to a sports bar deserves the crappy evening ahead of them, in my opinion. I'd also argue with him about house-party dates if we were in the same room, because unless something like this happens, they're generally awkward for the other person. But whatever, those are minor nitpicks. Alex made a pretty helpful (and respectful) date-advice poster, with none of that obsessive, dating-as-a-science Ted Mosby crap or any fratty PUA weirdness. His seating-suggestions poster is similar in tone, and similarly helpful, although the visuals are a bit lazier.
‘We Will Finish the Race’: Boston Magazine’s May Cover
Posted in: UncategorizedBoston Magazine honors the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings with this uplifting, evocative cover featuring a heart created from the shoes of the marathon runners.
Liz Noftle, deputy art director at the magazine, said that the team wanted to “do something really special,” and came up with the concept Monday night, after the bombings happened. The mag staff reached out to “anyone and everyone” to collect shoes, with the team collecting them and organizing couriers to bring them in.
Boston’s photo editor, Scott Lacey, shot each shoe individually for the site and the inside story, then drove them down to New York, where photographer Mitchell Feinberg shot them. “We closed the magazine while the city was in lockdown on Friday,” she said.
