Did you know you can totally ignore the scenery in this great country and keep your eyes glued to your tablet and Hulu? It’s true. Hell, you might as well just stay home with a bowl of snacks, save some money, you know. You’ll need the money once your free trial of Hulu ends.

Black Forest Organics "Streaker" (2016) :30 (USA)

The Real Gummies of the Black Forest are back. In this episode, the parents are strolling causally through the forest when they discover their song and his friends are taking the whole “au naturel” thing a bit too far. That’s right, they are streaking. And it’s even pixilated. Hehehe. And while the mom is all pearl clutchy, the dad is proud of his son. Which is only slightly creepy. This looks like it was quite the fun campaign to work on.

ESPN "This is SportsCenter: "Big Papi's Retirement" (2016) :30 (USA)

David Ortiz is retiring following his last season. In this SportsCenter ad, we see the slugger and founder of Big Papi’s Kitchen watching Stan Verrett and Neil Everett and brainstorming some new potential eatery names. Papisicles, Papicorn and Papironi are grown worthy. So much so that teammates David Price and Eduardo Rodriguez are kind of questioning his sanity.

Emojis and animations abound in this hyper-speed pop punk soundtrack-led spot for Cricket Wireless that tours all the stuff you’ll be able to do with a very little monthly fee if you sign up. Considering how same-same most of the ads are in this category, I appreciate their trying to do something different.

Bored? Looking for a way to pass the lazy days of summer? Look no further than this how-to video from The Traveler Beer Company. In this one, you’ll learn how to create your own cornhole rig featuring nothing more than an empty beer box and some bottle caps. Unofficial beer of unofficial fun indeed. Just make sure not to attempt this while inebriated. Because seriously: X-Acto + Drunk = a visit to the ER.

John McGinley from Scrubs plays Coach Speedman who is out to mentor lBasketball lottery picks Brandon Ingram (Los Angeles) and Kris Dunn (Minnesota). He’s giving them life tips on how to make first impressions which somehow involves wearing a tutu and singing karaoke.

Speed Stick "Adversity" (2016) :30 (USA)

Negativity might come knocking but that don’t mean you have to let him in. John McGinley from Scrubs plays Coach Speedman who dispenses life tips to basketball lottery picks including Kris Dunn for Minnesota.

Speed Stick "Invest for the future" (2016) :30 (USA)

Don’t think only on the short term. Don’t get filled up with hors d’oeuvres when there’s so much more to snack on. This is the advice John McGinley of Scrubs gives L.A’s lottery pick Brandon Ingram. I’ll be damned if I know what it has to do with Speed Stick.

This pro trans "Bathroom ad" to air during Trump’s acceptance speech

On the evening that Donald J. Trump is expected to accept the Republican nomination, the group “Fairness USA” will run a commercial that criticizes laws colloquially known as “bathroom bills”. The HB2 legislation requires, among other things, anyone using bathrooms, locker rooms and changing rooms in public schools and agencies to use only those designated for the sex noted on their birth certificates. Fairness USA argue that this is discrimination of transgender people in public places, and have chosen to show a scenario in the ad where a transgender woman is told by a manager to go to the mens room instead. “I can’t go in there,” but then two other women arrive and tell the manager/man off as well.

The ad will air on Fox News during Mr. Trump’s speech. The spokesperson in the ad is Alaina Kupec, a transgender woman from North Carolina, the Co-Chair at Transgender legal, who has spoken to Salon about the risk Kupec will face if relegated to the mens room, a “potentially dangerous and deadly situation”, enacted in this ad. “Safety and privacy in bathrooms are important to all of us,” Kupec says. There’s no retort to the boundaries point brought up in the Alliance Defending Freedom ad, just a rehash of the most common soundbytes poorly mimed. The placement of this commercial on Fox during the Trump speech will be its trump card, forgive the pun.

CA Lottery "The Price Is Right® Audience" (2016) :44 (USA)

Normally I don’t post the ending of Youtube videos that prompt you to click somewhere else but this one is funny enough that i’m making an exception. The Price Is Right Lotto Scratcher form the California Lottery captures the zaniness of that show’s participatory audience. ‘You forgot cat food,” is an lol moment.

Nike SB "Can't Turn It Off" (2016) 3:20 (USA)

To sell Janoski Hyperfeel skateboarding shoes, Stefan Janoski, Sean Malto and Karsten Kleppan skate around use their imaginations and visual trickery to create a better skateboarding world in Austin, Texas. It’s neat and all, but Nike SB had a similar concept involving Paul Rodriguez doing something similar with chalk from 2006. Also, why set the spot to a song that will remind millions of people of the dream sequence from The Big Lebowski?

Cadillac XT5 "Stephen Kenn and Jihan Zencirli" (2016) 2:12 (USA)

LA-based furniture designer Stephen Kenn hangs out with balloon artist Jihan Zencirli and they talk furniture and balloons. This branded content falls under Cadillac’s Daring Pursuits campaign. Except for shots of the two driving in the vehicle, and exterior shots of the car approximating running footage, this really has zero to do with Cadillac.

Cadillac XT5 "Bryan Blue and Stephen Kenn" (2016) 2:26 (USA)

Bryan Blue went to school on a football scholarship but discovered art was a bigger passion than football. So he dropped out of college, moved from Oklahoma to L.A. and focused on his mummy wrap motif. Here he talks to furniture designer Stephen Kenn about running the business, inspiration, and respecting the process. This is part of Cadillac’s Daring Pursuits campaign which is more branded content than any hard sell Cadillac. In the other installment, Kenn talks to balloon artist Jihan Zencirli but conceptually I think this is a stronger piece as it relates more to the brand, as least in my point of view.

McDonald’s “Passengers” (2016) :15 (USA)
You can’t choose who sits next to you on an airplane, lord knows. But at least you can choose two of your favorite meals from McDonalds. This is quite a relatable spot.

McDonalds “Parents” (2016) :30 (USA)

McDonalds “Parents” (2016) :30 (USA)
You can’t choose how cool your parents are, but you can choose two of your favorites at McDonalds. I like the dad’s logic: Of course it’s a selfie. I took it myself.

Ghirardelli "Bestdressedsnack" (2016) :15 (USA)

Update your snack style with Ghirardelli ‘s milk chocolate covered cashews with seal salt added. Not sure about making “Update your snack style,” a thing, but if you offered me a handful of these guys, I wouldn’t say no.
