Coldwell Banker to Debut ‘Your Home’ During Oscars

Siltanen & Partners have released a follow up to Coldwell Banker’s GRAMMY “Home Sweet Home” spot called “Your Home,” which will debut during the Oscars this Sunday.

The new spot is the latest in Coldwell Banker’s #HomeRocks campaign, and will mark the third straight year the company has worked with Tom Selleck, who lends his recognizable voice to the 60 second ad. “Your Home” is in much the same vein as the campaign’s previous work, emphasizing the sentimental attachments people make to the places they live and tying it to the brand with the “Where home begins” tagline. While a continuation of Coldwell Banker’s second annual awards season campaign rollout, this particular spot was also strategically timed for this year’s Oscars.

“The Oscars are perfectly timed to reach consumers with our message of how home plays a role in the story of our lives while also aligning with the spring homebuying and selling season,” explains Sean Blankenship, senior vice president of marketing for Coldwell Banker. “It’s also fitting that the Oscars will pay homage to the 75th anniversary of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and Judy Garland’s classic line, ‘There’s no place like home.’”

Selleck, as you may remember, has deeply rooted ties to the company. “When I was four, my father put the Sellecks in the family car and left Detroit for Southern California to pursue a career in real estate. He worked for Coldwell Banker for 38 years, retiring as an Executive Vice President. Over that period, my two brothers and sisters were with Coldwell Banker, as well. I was the one exception. I’m proud to say that I’m now part of the family business, ” said the man once known as Magnum PI.

As part of the campaign leading up to the new spot, voters on Coldwell Banker’s Blue Matter blog voted Apollo 13 as having the best homecoming scene in movie history, beating out the likes of The Wizard of Oz, The Best Years of Our Lives, and Home Alone, which finished dead last. Keep an eye out for the new “Your Home” spot during the Oscars this Sunday, and stick around for brief credits after the jump. continued…

Siltanen & Partners, Motley Crue Celebrate ‘Home Sweet Home’ for Coldwell Banker

For the second year in a row, Coldwell Banker is rolling out its national marketing campaign during awards season, with the debut of “Home Sweet Home” during the 56th Annual GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, January 26th.

The new, 60 second spot, created by Siltanen & Partners under the direction of executive creative director Rob Siltanen, features the Mötley Crüe anthem “Home Sweet Home.” “Home Sweet Home,” directed by Kat Coiro, is a montage of all the moments that make getting home at the end of the day so rewarding: kicking off your shoes, hopping on the couch, slipping into a warm bath. The spot closes with the hashtag #HomeRocks, pulling together the music connection. Coldwell Banker is also offering fans the chance to vote for their favorite song about homes in the #HomeRocks awards on their Blue Matter blog.

“Music and home certainly go together no matter where you are in the world and we believe we have found the appropriate major events to showcase the emotional value we place in our homes,” explained Sean Blankenship, senior vice president, marketing for Coldwell Banker Real Estate. ““This campaign is part of our ongoing effort to remind Americans that home is as much a lifestyle investment as it is financial,” he added.

“Your Home,” the next spot in Coldwell Banker’s #HomeRocks campaign, featuring the voice (but not the mustache) of Tom Selleck, will launch during the Academy Awards on March 2nd. It will mark the third straight year Coldwell Banker has worked with Selleck, whose father was a former Coldwell Banker executive.

Harry Mustachio Wants You to Monate Now

More Movember business, this time from San Diego shop i.d.e.a. Not only are they raising money for prostate cancer research in the name of hairy upperlips, but they’ve gone ahead and created an entire character, Harry Mustachio, who asks you to monate money instead of being a stachehole. Clearly, the folks at i.d.e.a like puns, but stachehole does have a certain ring to it. Above, you can watch a short biopic-style dramatic parody on Mustachio.

The goal is to raise $5000, compared to the agency’s $2306 total from last year. To donate and learn more about the crazy life of being a puppet with a mustache, visit the campaign’s website. Below, there’s also a video of Harry Mustachio interviewing people on the street. The clip may be a bit creepy, but Tom Selleck gets a few shout-outs, which is always a good thing.

After the jump, you can watch i.d.e.a.’s 2012 Movember campaign video, which features the “We Need You Mo Than Ever” rethinking of a pop classic. Puns can be bad, but that is well done.
