Havas Wants You to ‘Win the Right Way’ for Chivas

Havas Worldwide, London teamed up with AnalogFolk for a new campaign promoting luxury whiskey brand Chivas’ “The Venture,” a one million dollar fund to support up-and-coming social entrepreneurs.

The campaign, entitled “Win the Right Way,” celebrates those social entrepreneurs who run their businesses in a way that benefits society, not just shareholders, and is the latest installment in the brand’s “Live With Chivalry” campaign. Havas called on the talents of actors Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave) and Liao Fan for three different ads slated for different markets, all directed by Daniel Wolfe. Isaac stars in the 60-second spot for the US market (featured above), pacing around a boxing ring while celebrating those business owners who care enough to worry about something other than profits. The campaign rolled out yesterday, with the ads, short documentaries about social entrepreneurs and a website created by AnalogFolk.

“We have always valued entrepreneurship, and generosity is at the heart of Chivas, so supporting those who use their success to create value for others feels like a natural fit,” said Richard Black, global brand director, Chivas Regal. “We are committing significant resources through The Venture to find and support the most inspiring social entrepreneurs around the world, and hope that each of those businesses will inspire other entrepreneurs to use business as a force for good, creating a growing movement with real momentum behind it.” (more…)

Pernod Ricard Awards Chivas Global Digital Duties to AnalogFolk

Following a review, Pernod Ricard has expanded its relationship with London/Sydney-based indie creative agency AnalogFolk, which has now been awarded global digital/social media duties for its luxury whiskey brand, Chivas Regal, which the spirits giant lists as of one its two “global icons” (the other being Absolut). AnalogFolk, which just opened up shop in New York a couple of months ago, now adds to its existing Pernod Ricard portfolio that includes Malibu (which AF also serves as global digital agency for) as well as brands such as Luksusowa, Kahlua and Wyborowa.

In a statement, Chivas Regal global brand director Richard Black says, “This is an important development in our digital plans for 2014. During the digital review process, we were impressed with AnalogFolk’s strategic thinking and innovative creative ideas. We look forward to working closely together to make these ideas a reality.” No word yet on who else participated in the pitch, but AnalogFolk takes over for EVB (specifically the London office, which declined to participate) on the Chivas global digital biz. AF will now work closely with Havas Worldwide and Ketchum, which handle above-the-line advertising and PR, respectively, for Chivas on integrated projects.

Here’s Some Quick Clarification on Momentum GM Loughlin

We’ve received a couple of tips today that 12-year Momentum vet Laura Loughlin, who shifted over a few months ago to the IPG agency’s two-year-old unit Momentum Entertainment Group to serve as its general manager, is “transitioning out of the agency.”

Well, according to sources familiar with the matter, that’s not the case. From what we’ve been told and what tipsters have also mentioned, Loughlin is indeed moving from her homebase in NYC to Momentum’s West Coast operations. But, the GM is not leaving MEG, as sources say that Loughlin will maintain her current position and that she is “still very much a member of the team and [fully] active with the company.” Those in know add that this move is due more to a need for a change of scenery versus any structural/role shift.

Loughlin, if you recall, was succeeded as managing director of Momentum’s New York office by Richard Black back in March after spending three years in the role. Prior to her MD role at Momentum proper, Loughlin served as director of the agency’s live events unit.

Momentum NY Undergoes MD Shift

We’ve received confirmation that Richard Black, who’s spent the last six-and-a-half years at the IPG-owned Momentum as an SVP and director of client services, has been bumped up to general manager of the agency’s New York office. From what we’ve been told, Black (pictured) replaces Laura Loughlin, who has transitioned to a similar role at Momentum Entertainment Group, which was launched back in June 2011. During his career, Black has worked on the account side at the likes of TracyLocke and Saatchi & Saatchi prior to joining Momentum, while Loughlin has spent well over a dozen years at the last agency.

In addition to the Black/Loughlin move, Momentum has promoted Tom Boccuzzi, who has spent the last five-plus years at said agency and has worked at the likes of Y&R and G2 in the past, has been promoted to the role of SVP, operations director NY working on the American Express business.
