At The Glenn Group, Part II of Card Charity is Even Gooder
Posted in: UncategorizedAs far as titles go, Good [for goodness sake] Part II #evengooder is up there, and by up there, I’m not sure if I mean awesome or terrible. It’s definitely up there, though. All of this philanthropic goodness comes from The Glenn Group, specifically Diego Sabogal, a graphic designer and artist, who is creating original holiday cards that anyone can bid on, starting at $50, during a December 9 auction. All of the proceeds will be donated to feed hungry people in Nevada.
The Part II #evengooder campaign owes last year’s original Good [for goodness sake] some credit. The 2013 auction raised $1,000 in one day. This year, bidders will be able to target their sights on custom sets of holiday cards and prints, including Santa and Rudolph dressed in yellow Breaking Bad jumpsuits while cooking meth in the desert. For goodness sake, that’s good. You can do some early bidding on items here. Screengrab below:

Posted in: UncategorizedSativex: True Cost
Posted in: UncategorizedSpasticity is a symptom that develops late in the course of multiple sclerosis (MS), causing muscle spasm, weakness and stiffness. Patients lose their independence and are forced to rely on family members and carers to accomplish basic tasks. The limited treatment options have significant side effects, or require an implanted pump.
Sativex is a novel treatment developed from particular strains of cannabis that significantly improves symptoms of spasticity in responders. Because it is delivered as an oral spray, patients can adjust their dose as and when they need to. However, HCPs have been equivocal about its value, and concerned about its cost.
To drive re-appraisal of the brand among prescribers, we used the unifying idea of ‘cost’ to bring together the effect of MS spasticity on patients with its broader social impact and the financial realities, increasing their motivation to gain budget approval for Sativex.

How a 1926 Print Ad Inspired One of Today’s Fastest Growing Websites
Posted in: Uncategorized
If you needed proof that there's really nothing new under the sun, look no further than the explosively popular site ViralNova, which credits its addictive, highly clickable content to a famous long-form print ad from 1926.
The original ad, widely collected, praised and parodied through the years, begins, "They laughed when I sat down at the piano — But when I started to play!" It was penned by John Caples for the U.S. School of Music and is often noted as one of the most effective ad headlines of all time.
Scott DeLong, who launched ViralNova in May, has a framed copy of the ad over his desk to help inspire him to create the most engaging headlines possible each day. "It's the most perfect headline ever written," he recently told Business Insider, "and those same psychological reasons for that working is why ViralNova is, so far, working today."
He's successfully adapted its urgently emotional style, topping aggregated news items from around the Web with madcap mini-masterpieces like, "They Were Married for 65 Years. Their Final Moment Left Me In A Puddle Of Tears," "I Can't Decide If This Is Adorable Or Very, Very Wrong. And I'm Not Talking About The Baby's Safety" and "Please, Ban These People From Ever Posting Online Again. You Have To See This … OMG." (And those are just from one day.)
ViralNova is in the vanguard of sites that rely on creating such headlines to attract clicks and social sharing. Other notables include Upworthy, which says editors must write 25 headlines for each story before they get it right.
This trend raises the bar for sites looking to get their content noticed and adds a new layer of creativity, though journalistic purists and old-school newshounds might scoff along the lines of an especially memorable ViralNova topper: "And This Is Why Our Entire Society Is Doomed. Sigh."
