Sorry, USA. It's Jamaica in the Gold Cup Final, and They're Celebrating With This Ad

Fans of the U.S. Men’s National Team are still reeling from the team’s shocking semifinal loss to Jamaica in soccer’s Gold Cup. But you can’t stay mad at Jamaica for long. And this ad from FCB Garfinkel for the Jamaica Tourist Board, created on the fly to cheer on the team, is simple and fun and reminds you of Jamaica’s remarkable achievement—the island nation is the first Caribbean country to reach a Gold Cup final. The match against Mexico will be broadcast tonight on Fox Sports 1 and Univision beginning at 7:30 p.m.
This Catchy Jamaican Bobsled Song Is Timed to Match the Track at Sochi
Posted in: Uncategorized
Have you been waiting for someone to come up with a Jamaican Bobsled Team reggae song synced with the course in Sochi, fitting the exact shape of the racetrack with all its twists and turns?
Well wait no more, because Draftfcb New York and the Jamaica Tourist Board have done just that. According to Draftfcb, "If you press play at the exact moment the Jamaican Bobsled Team starts its run down the actual racetrack in Sochi on Sunday, you'll have your very own authentic soundtrack to one of the most anticipated moments of the Winter Olympics."
The song's got a catchy groove—"To the right! To the left! It's bobsled time!"—with an appealing animated promo clip that recalls old-school video-game graphics. ("Mon" appears just once in the lyrics, in case you were wondering.)
This marks Draftfcb's second recent tuneful foray, following the Kmart/Joe Boxer "Jingle Bells" spot from the agency's Chicago office. The reggae song's cute, but that ballsy yuletide classic set an extremely high bar for inspired musical silliness. Sorry, bobsledders, I'm afraid it's all downhill from there.
Jamaica Tourism’s Giant Stress Ball in Times Square Helps New Yorkers Relax
Posted in: Uncategorized
New York is a stressful place, and Times Square isn't the most soothing of its neighborhoods. But thankfully, Draftfcb New York and the Jamaica Tourist Board recently plunked down an enormous stress ball on Broadway between 45th and 46th Streets, giving New Yorkers and visitors a chance to "squeeze their burdens away." The giant ball doesn't work like a regular stress ball—you'd never get your hand around it—but perhaps you were meant to just give it a big hug, mon. In any case, its big smiling face served as a de-stresser by itself. And if all else failed, reggae artist and Jamaica native Gyptian was on hand to perform his mellow tunes for the crowd.
