New President at Arnold New York

This morning brings news that Peter Grossman will be the new president of Arnold New York effective next week. He replaces Corey Mitchell, who left in May.

A bit on Grossman’s agency background: after handling AT&T and Nabisco for FCB, he spent more than a decade at JWT, eventually serving as EVP/director of client services before leaving to lead startup QWiPS, or “a global platform that enables the integration of real voice into digital communication platforms”. His most recent position was managing director at digital strategy consultancy Takeout.

In the new role, he will also focus on client leadership and new business development while managing the agency’s 100-plus New York operation.

Grossman will report to Arnold Global president Pam Hamlin, who cites his experience “leading global brands and helping Fortune 500 companies evolve their business model for the digital economy” in the press release; he will also sit on Arnold Worldwide’s Global Executive Committee.

In the release, he writes, “The agency has one of the best client rosters in the industry and a philosophy and culture built on creativity.”

Ex-Rosetta CCO Scheiner Lands at Arnold

garyscheiner1Well, it’s been some time since we’ve heard the name Gary Scheiner, but a phone call has confirmed that the former Rosetta chief creative officer is now working at ArnoldNYC. From what tipsters tell us, since parting ways with Rosetta last spring, Scheiner has actually been consulting with Arnold since last summer. Now, though, we’re hearing he’s assumed an official role at the agency as EVP/GCD, overseeing healthcare biz while reporting to Aaron Griffiths and president Corey Mitchell. We’re trying to confirm everything, but one spy tells us that Arnold is not allowed to broadcast Scheiner’s move up due to a previous clause “but to the agency and clients, he is EVP, GCD, and is great.”

Prior to his five years at Rosetta, Scheiner served as an ECD at the likes of Draftfcb and TBWA\Chiat\Day.

MRM Alum Mitchell Assumes Prez Post at ArnoldNYC

It’s been over two-and-a-half years since we last heard from Corey Mitchell, who “left” his post as EVP/managing director at MRM New York in early 2011. Well, the exec has resurfaced and has now assumed the role of president of Arnold’s New York operations, a post previously held by Lynn Power, who if you recall resigned back in June. Along with the prez post, Mitchell will sit on Arnold Worldwide’s Global Executive Committee and report directly to CEO, Robert LePlae.

ArnoldNYC’s new president spent nearly three years as EVP/MD at MRM, which he joined after working in various roles for a decade at TBWA, first in its Sydney office, then as worldwide managing director on Mars and finally as president of Chiat NY and \Tequila.
