Arnold Names Two New Executives to Run Health and Wellness Practice

Today Arnold Worldwide named two executives to manage the recent expansion of its health and wellness service offering.

Christine Beeby and Gary Scheiner both have extensive agency backgrounds; Scheiner landed at Arnold earlier this year in the EVP/GCD role after leaving Rosetta where he served as CCO. He also spent time in the ECD role at TBWAChiatDay.

Beeby is a more recent addition to the Arnold roster, joining the agency in July after spending more than a decade at Ogilvy as EVP and senior partner specializing in healthcare and seven years as SVP/account director at Lowe New York.

While both have particularly relevant experience with healthcare and pharmaceuticals (Scheiner currently leads the accounts for “Sanofi’s diabetes and cholesterol franchises”), they’ve both worked with a wide variety of clients in automotive, tech, consumer goods and other categories.

In the release, Beeby reveals a bit more behind the strategy, writing:

“We envision creating a new model for the healthcare arena. We’ll pitch not only traditional pharmaceutical products, but will also target foods, hospitals, technology companies, doctor networks and similar products and services that require brand building and need to engage with consumers.”

The expansion may also explain July’s hiring of President Peter Grossman; he will lead the expanded practice in Arnold’s New York office.

Ex-Rosetta CCO Scheiner Lands at Arnold

garyscheiner1Well, it’s been some time since we’ve heard the name Gary Scheiner, but a phone call has confirmed that the former Rosetta chief creative officer is now working at ArnoldNYC. From what tipsters tell us, since parting ways with Rosetta last spring, Scheiner has actually been consulting with Arnold since last summer. Now, though, we’re hearing he’s assumed an official role at the agency as EVP/GCD, overseeing healthcare biz while reporting to Aaron Griffiths and president Corey Mitchell. We’re trying to confirm everything, but one spy tells us that Arnold is not allowed to broadcast Scheiner’s move up due to a previous clause “but to the agency and clients, he is EVP, GCD, and is great.”

Prior to his five years at Rosetta, Scheiner served as an ECD at the likes of Draftfcb and TBWA\Chiat\Day.

Rosetta, Hess Part Ways

We’ve been hearing murmurs about this for a couple of weeks and now, sources familiar with the matter confirm that Toni Hess, who most recently served as partner/executive creative director at Rosetta, is no longer with the Publicis Groupe-owned agency. No word from those in the know if there are immediate plans to replace Hess, whose departure comes less than a month after Rosetta and CCO Gary Scheiner parted ways. Hess joined Rosetta nearly four years ago as partner/group creative director within the agency’s creative/customer experience group. Prior to her most recent gig, the New York-based Hess, who’s also taught at the Miami Ad School, spent several years as a GCD at both Draftfcb and JWT.

Scheiner Leaving Rosetta

Sources familiar with the matter have confirmed that Gary Scheiner, who’s spent nearly the last four years serving as managing partner/chief creative officer at Rosetta, is leaving the Princeton, NJ-based interactive agency, which of course was acquired by Publicis Groupe two years ago. Scheiner joined Rosetta in the newly created position of CCO from TBWA\Chiat\Day, where he spent two years working out of the New York office as ECD of the latter agency’s WorldHealth unit. No word yet on his reasons for leaving, when his last day or where he’s headed to next, but we’ll let you know if and when we hear more.

During his career, Scheiner also spent a decade as creative director at MRM prior to joining up with Draftfcb to serve as an EVP/ECD.
