Royal Enfield Brings the ‘Tripper’ Out in Everybody

Andre1.jpg

We just got a ton of creative from a new Royal Enfield campaign in Delhi. It’s called “Trip” — not to be confused with what happens when you ingest too many of the wrong kind of ‘shrooms.

Perhaps inspired by The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Hoffman|Lewis sent us this creative for the Missouri Division of Tourism.

Happy Banking

happy_banking_bb.jpg

Bank West has launched a new campaign titled “Happy Banking” and just like the Commbank going all the way to the US to find and agency Bank West made the big leap to Sydney’s Host. I really like the campaign as it introduces the iniatives by Bank West in an interesting and fun way.

The main part of the online campaign is this personalized message maker. Type your name and gender and have kittens sing it back to you. Who doesn’t like kittens? As annoying as they may be cats dominate the web. Well lolcats that is. Get a cat playing a Wii and you’ve pretty much got yourself interweb gold.

Here’s my name, as sadly Bannerblog wouldn’t fit. The site also has the other TV ads and all the offers from Bank West. The singing cats have been labeled Experiment #1 so I believe there will be more. I like this online extension so much more than the Commbank effort.

Here’s the TVC which has interviews with a variety of objects that make people happy and then relating it back to banking.

Here’s the flower ad. My favs the teddy, who’s double parked, but it’s not on Youtube yet. The camera zooms, voice talent and set are spot on.

The Optus ad from 07 had animals running around with microphones recording people so it’s the idea flipped.

optus_animals_mics.jpg

This all reminds of Ardman’s Creature Comforts, the same voice over lady and mic in shot.

I also just found this special for the disabled called “Creature Discomforts”.

Maybe We Need More Chest Hair.

“Crack One Open” is a Cenergy Communications-developed campaign for Steinlager. It involves rugby and broken bones. We don’t really get it.

‘Jesse Fewer Watts’ Rounds Up ‘Incan Derek’ For Vermont Efficiency

We’re assuming these three Kelliher Samets Volk-created commercials for Efficiency Vermont, an organization which encourages people to use compact fluorescent bulbs, were purposefully created to be bad.

Scion xB Gets Gold Treatment

Neat. We all want a gold colored Scion xB Series 5, right?

Come On, It Makes Perfect Sense to Use Skin to Sell Skin.

apligraf-ad.jpg

Adfreak pointed us to news of a virgin ad campaign for Apligraf, a kind of magic band-aid that uses living cells from the foreskins of baby boys to heal foot sores and leg ulcers.

Holiday Inn Celebrates the Goofiness of Its Guests

holiday_inn_hot_date.jpg

Hmm. On the one hand, it makes perfect sense for a brand’s ad campaign to mirror the essence of the brand. On the other hand, if you’re Holiday Inn, you might want to shoot a bit higher.

FIFA 3 Street: WoW

I came across a very cool trailer for FIFA3, which then lead me to a superb website that allows you to see and learn all the cool moves from the clip. I’m totally stunned. This really is amazing and the promo site must have cost a truckload of money because it looks very slick! Check this out:

It must be the child within me that admires these supernatural skills and probably the long forgotten dream to run around with 21 other morons on a football field, chasing a round leather rabbit, but somewhere… I’ve always wanted to be a super pro footballer. Just like almost every sane man, I think. The thing is, I dug up my soccer ball again and actually started to try out the moves to make me feel better. And it helps.

Australia Hates Goodby Silverstein’s Michael Bay Bank Ad

It seems a new campaign for Australia’s Commonwealth Bank has the land of down under angry for two reasons.

Remember that Talking Pets campaign for Purina? Probably not — unless you’re from Canada or are just generally way into your animal chums.

eBillme Uses UGC Lawsuit to Promote … UGC … Campaigns?

ebillme%20logo.jpg

Damn, eBillme jumps fast on a trend. An hour after we heard about the Subway/Quizno’s UGC-related lawsuit, eBillme jumped online and wrote a press release about the lawsuit in light of its previous Shopping Confessions contest and upcoming Valentine’s Day contest.

DIY Paleontology

To send New Year greetings for 2008, the communications team at the dinosaur museum in Brussels sent colleagues and main sponsors a highly original package. Inside was a block of plaster and a hammer & chisel with an invitation to amateur paleontologists to dig, not for the bones of a mighty T-Rex, but to find the museum’s greeting card.

The full Goodby ad for CommBank

As per the article we posted last night and which has been picked up by a few media outlets, we were right. And to the anonymous poster that pointed out that it looked like Michael Bay production, how right you were!

Here’s the full ad :

Philippines Invites YouTube Star to Mother Country

happyslip%20in%20manila.jpg

Instead of putting together a slick campaign about the Philippines’ wonder and majesty, the Philippine Department of Tourism has done something that we think is risky but probably worthwhile.

It invited HappySlip, a Filipino-American who built a YouTube following with her impersonations of family members, to visit the country on its tab.

EXCLUSIVE: Is this the new Goodby CommBank work?

*******BANNERBLOG EXCLUSIVE*******

UPDATE : 9.20PM – 24/1/2007

It’s legit. We’ve done some digging and ‘Determined to Be Different’ is registered trademark # 1211855 of Commonwealth Bank of Australia, lodged by CBA’s Legal Counsel John O’Sullivan on November 23.

There is also a website that will reside at http://www.determinedtobedifferent.com.au/

The DNS servers attached to that domain are .SE – Sweden. We could speculate that this is a possible sign that the website is being developed by a partner/supplier Goodby have used before – the Sweden based North Kingdom. This is pure speculation however.

*******

Is this the first work of the Commonwealth Bank’s new agency, Goodby Silverstein & Partners?

Viral? Internal Staff Video? Industry Joke?

Let us know, what you know!
