In the conservative medtech industry, not many attempts to challenge the traditional norms of communication. But in their new campaign, highlighting groundbreaking ventilator technology, Getinge took a fresh, entirely digital approach together with creative collective Forsman & Bodenfors. In the main campaign film, we follow a neonatologist delivering a baby at a hospital. In a series of clips, going backward in time, we see the doctor as she gets younger. We hear her gasping for breath while exercising, cheering for joy at her graduation, and breathing nervously as she awaits her wedding ceremony. At the end of the film, we realize she herself was born prematurely, and see her receiving respiratory aid from a ventilator. The story was inspired by Dr. Sabina Checketts, who was born 12 weeks early with a 50/50 chance of survival. Checketts decided to become a doctor at an early age, when her mother routinely pointed out a man walking down the street on his way to the hospital and said, That’s the doctor who saved your life. Now, she helps save other premature babies. Throughout the campaign, we meet Dr. Checketts in the main film and hear her story in a mini-documentary also featuring leading physicians and Getinge’s medtech experts.
Appart’City undertakes a new challenge: to illustrate the notion of space with a fun, show-stopping campaign!
It all started from a simple fact for the leading brand in the the apart-hotel segment in France: a hotel room is on average 15m2, while an Appart’City apartment is on average 27m2. So, the question became, what would you do with this extra 12m2 of freedom?
To answer this, the company and its agency Change gave the keys of an apartment to Hurricane and FISE teams (the International Festival of Extreme Sports, the largest urban sports gathering in the world) and to Sam Partaix (professional skater). The result? Together they created professional modules to give birth to the first SkateRoom: half apartment, half skatepark.
Leveraging the insight that “small businesses are not just businesses; they are people,” the campaign has tapped into the nostalgia and emotion associated with traditional neighbourhood shops, clearly portrayed across all of the campaign’s touchpoints, including the brand identity. The campaign’s main film depicts eight unique stories filmed across Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon, featuring a real and diverse cast of small business owners in local shops, who share their daily experiences and personal anecdotes. A wealth of content pieces and executions have been developed for the campaign, including videos, IG stories, interviews with small business owners and a content creators’ activation idea.
After the tragic shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida in 2018, Manuel and Patricia Oliver launched Change the Ref in memory of their son Joaquin and his 16 peers that senselessly lost their lives. Change The Ref (CTR), was formed to empower our Future Leaders, giving young people the tools they need to be empowered to make changes to critical issues that affect our nation, through education, conversation, and activism.
With the 2020 election looming, Change the Ref has launched an initiative to encourage young people to get out the vote. “The Unfinished Votes” leverages AI technology to bring Joaquin back to life digitally to ask people to “finish” the vote he was never able to cast, as this would have marked Joaquin’s first vote in a presidential election. In the launch film for the campaign, Manuel and Patricia, alongside their late son, recruit voters to replace the ballots of gun violence victims.
