Alis: Less Hate – More Skate, 2

Alis Print Ad - Less Hate – More Skate, 2

Skate parks and skate brands attract skaters, but also people who have bad attitudes. People who often cause trouble and get into fights. That’s why we created a campaign for the Copenhagen based skate brand ALIS encouraging people to enjoy skating and to spread good vibes in the parks and within the skate community. And to aspire wearers of ALIS not to be part of hateful culture.

Facebook Assured Users That It’s Not Selling Their Calling and Texting Logs

Twitter joins Facebook, Google in banning crypto coin sale ads

Twitter is joining Facebook and Google in banning advertisements for initial coin offerings and token sales on its social-media platform.

“Advertisement of Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) and token sales will be prohibited globally,” a Twitter representative said in an emailed statement Monday. “We know that this type of content is often associated with deception and fraud, both organic and paid, and are proactively implementing a number of signals to prevent these types of accounts from engaging with others in a deceptive manner.”

The decision comes after Facebook banned cryptocurrency ads in January and Alphabet Inc.’s Google said it would ban such ads starting in June, as part of a broader effort to crack down on deceptive and misleading advertising on their platforms. Social-media platforms are keeping cryptos away as regulators cast an increasingly wary eye on the sector globally.

YouTube's 30-second ad ban not exactly working

YouTube viewers have to sit through 30-second ads on videos from the site’s biggest partners despite the ban on the long-form commercials.

YouTube video clips in shows from NBCUniversal, Viacom, Turner and other networks still run some 30-second pre-roll ads, even though the Google-owned site said it would stop serving them. Brands, including Time Warner, Verizon and GMC have been among the big ad spenders still running the longer spots.

Early last year, Google announced it would stop showing 30-second ads that don’t have skip buttons, because viewers generally hate the lengthy intrusion, and instead it would push 20-, 15- and six-second ads. The change took affect in January.

Chance the Rapper calls Heineken Light's 'sometimes lighter is better' ads racist

Heineken Light is on the defensive over new ads that use the tagline “sometimes lighter is better,” after they were deemed racist by Chance the Rapper.

In a message on Twitter, where he has more than 7 million followers, the artist held up one of the ads as an example of how, in his view, marketers sometimes don’t mind getting called racist:

I think some companies are purposely putting out noticably racist ads so they can get more views. And that shit racist/bogus so I guess I shouldn’t help by posting about it. But I gotta just say tho. The “sometimes lighter is better” Hienekin commercial is terribly racist omg
