No Sled? No Problem: Red Stripe Keeps Jamaican Bobsled Team's Dream Alive

Red Stripe has stepped into to save the Jamaican bobsled team at the Olympics. The beer, which is brewed in the nation’s capital of Kingston, covered the cost of the women’s team’s sled at the last minute after its coach quit and apparently threatened to take the sled with her, the brand says.

The coach, Sandra Kiriasis of Germany, quit the team after refusing to change roles from driving coach to “track performance analyst,” according to a report Wednesday by the BBC. Kiriasis claims she was forced out and is legally responsible for the sled, the BBC reported. Red Stripe, which is distributed in the U.S. by Heineken USA, seized on the situation with a tweet on Thursday. The Jamaican team took the brew up on its offer.

Emart: Hood House

The core campaign objective is to raise awareness of animal homelessness, and to promote positive interaction between people and homeless animals. We wanted to first raise awareness of animal homelessness among pet owners and animal lovers, and through the power of social media, further raise awareness to the general public. The campaign was executed through a collaboration with Molly’s Pet Shop, an E-mart pet shop brand in South Korea. Clothing donations were collected, and were recycled into portable cat shelters for stray cats called Hood Houses. 2,000 Hood Houses were made and given away for free to customers who purchased food for stray cats during a two-week period.

Nissan: KEFA – Fake Spare Parts

The UAE automotive industry has experienced exponential growth in the last few years, generating records of demand for car parts.  But such scenario has also collaborated to increase an old problem in the region: the enormous amount of fake spare parts being offered on the market.

As most drivers in Dubai think they can easily tell a fake car part from a real one, unauthorized car shops have their clientele guaranteed. As a result, one out of four cars is fitted with fake spare parts.

To change drivers’ attitude, AWR Arabian Automobiles and its Nissan Service Center/Genuine Parts division created KEFA, the fakest spare parts ever, and
introduced it to car fans at the Dubai International Motor Show.

A shower drain, a printer toner, and kitchen strainer were respectively presented as a brake rotor, a fuel injector, and an air filter, each one with its very
own package.

With more than one hundred car fans interviewed, less than 6% were able to notice the scam. The best reactions were compiled in an online film, meant to
prove that, when it comes to car parts, it’s better to rely on genuine products and on authorized service centers.

McDonald's: The First Time

A new ad campaign created by Leo Burnett London takes viewers from the 1970s to the present day, celebrating 50 years since the first ever appearance of McDonald’s Big Mac.

The campaign seeks to remind customers of how much they love a Big Mac, as well as encouraging those who have never tried a Big Mac to taste one for the first time. Also it highlights the introduction of two limited-edition promotional burgers – the Mac Jr, a single patty version of a Big Mac; and the Grand Big Mac, a bigger version with a larger bun and two bigger patties.

The ad revisits everything from fashions and hairstyles to cars throughout the decades. At the same time, it presses viewers’ nostalgia buttons by reminding us of the changes that McDonald’s has made to its restaurants, packaging and even its typefaces over the years. An adventure back in time, it provides a window back to some much-loved eras.

The ad concludes with a father and son trying the new promotional burgers together in present day, reminiscing and agreeing over the fact that the unique Big Mac taste still remains as satisfying and enjoyable as it was the first time – ‘still good’!
