Chris Fisher Joins The1stMovement as Digital Producer in Denver Office

Digital agency The1stMovement (T1M), which works with a diverse range of clients from Cisco to Women of Wrestling, has welcomed production specialist Chris Fisher as its new Digital Producer in its Denver office.

With a decade’s worth of industry experience including a lengthy tenure at Portland-based digital shop Emerge Interactive, Fisher has evolved from project management and web/app development to a more versatile, in-depth position as a digital producer and QA analyst.

According to Fisher, who will be based in T1M’s Denver office, having hybrid skill sets and insights will prove beneficial as he assumes his post at the agency. “I often recognize details that an average producer or project manager may not see or consider,” he says. “Working closely with developers has given me perspectives on better approaches to managing assets and deliverables. I try to ask the questions that may not seem important at the time, but will be crucial to success down the road. Identifying those potential issues sooner rather than later helps a project run more smoothly.”

Prior to T1M, Fisher applied his talents to projects for a variety of notable brands and organizations including Nike, The Home Depot, Mercedes-Benz, Bridgestone, Microsoft and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. With a career spanning QA, analytics, production and client services, Fisher adds that his varied background will help inform his new, agile role at T1M. “My experience affords me the capability to balance analytics and empathy while learning new approaches to projects. Possessing critical thinking that embraces all facets of a project – from internal, external and personal perspectives – gives me a solid foundation to start with and allows me to put extra focus on learning how T1M operates.”

According to T1M’s CEO Ming Chan, Fisher’s digital acumen and ability to balance multiple roles makes him an ideal fit for the Digital Producer position. “Chris’s ability to effectively manage projects for clients large and small is evident from his previous experience, but what distinguished him from all the other candidates is his keen ability to communicate, both with internal team and with external clients. It also doesn’t hurt that he has great hair.”

Diablo III dares you to spend a night in Sweden's most haunted house

Blizzard, the developer behind Diablo III is now looking fa brave soul. One who dares to go to a Swedish forest and spend the night alone in a haunted house, while playing the Necromancer hero. Even though you’ll be alone, your game will be live-streamed on Twitch, so audiences can trash talk how badly you play and also watch you jump every five seconds for whatever horrors they have planned up their sleeves. The spot, Borgvattnet’s rectory, really is supposedly one of Sweden’s most haunted spots. If you want to do it, then go to the Haunted Experience site, and fill out an application which includes writing why you should be chosen. You have to know the Diablo universe well, be good at live streaming, and not be a wuss when it comes to haunted houses. You’ve got five more days to enter but it happens on August 31st.

According to the press release: expenses including travel, meals, and lodging will be covered by Blizzard. The applicant needs to be available on August 31, be fit for travel, and must confirm that he or she is physically and mentally sound prior to the start of the activity. Participation in the activity is unpaid but what do you care? They’re flying you to Sweden.

Errol Morris Joins Biscuit Filmworks

Biscuit Filmworks has signed acclaimed filmmaker Errol Morris to its commercial roster in both the U.S. and U.K. Renowned as a documentary film and commercial director, and a best-selling author, Morris’ idiosyncratic style has indelibly altered modern perceptions of the non-fiction film. Morris’ latest film, The B-Side: Elsa Dorfman’s Portrait Photography is in theatres, and he is currently working on Wormwood, a documentary miniseries for Netflix starring Peter Sarsgaard.

“What a gift in this business to be able to work with someone whose vision you’ve admired for a long time. We’re excited to bring a fresh perspective to Errol’s work in the commercial realm. We feel honored to work with him,” said Shawn Lacy, co-founder of Biscuit.

“Commercials have always been like vitamins for me, an essential part of my daily dietary requirements. So I’m delighted to be in partnership now with the Biscuit community,” shared Morris.

Morris has directed over 1,000 commercials throughout his career, including campaigns for Apple, American Express, Nike, IBM, Target, General Motors, Miller High Life, Cisco, and many more. His “Photobooth” spot for PBS earned a Creative Arts Emmy Award for Outstanding Commercial. As a documentary filmmaker, Morris has directed eleven features including the groundbreaking The Thin Blue Line, Academy Award-winning The Fog of War, and Gates of Heaven, which Roger Ebert named one of the ten best films of all time. He invented the Interrotron camera rig to achieve his singularly personal interview style, allowing his subjects to simultaneously look directly into the camera and at him. Morris has also received two DGA nominations for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Documentary and one for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials, was the subject of a retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art, and a recipient of five fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, a Guggenheim Fellowship, and a MacArthur Fellowship.
