Posted in: UncategorizedThe landlord wants his rent.
Funny or Die, the comedy website founded by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy, has hired a financial adviser to evaluate options including a possible sale, people with knowledge of the matter said. The asking price is $100 million to $300 million, they said.
Mr. Ferrell appeared in the site’s first video, “The Landlord,” which has been viewed almost 82 million times. He was the first of many comedians to film skits for the site, a list that includes Zack Galifianakis and his popular interview show “Between Two Ferns.” U.S. President Barack Obama appeared on the show in March to discuss health care.

Braincast 134 – Existe job ruim?
Posted in: UncategorizedQuando você recebe aquele job abacaxi, a primeira reação é reclamar e esbravejar.

DigitasLBi, The Eberling Group Showcase Sony
Posted in: UncategorizedEarlier today, Wieden+Kennedy’s latest campaign for Sony got practical, shining a spotlight of sorts on the company’s many products and the roles they play in turning a creative idea into that thing we try very hard not to call “content.”
Here is a very different take on promoting the same client via DigitasLBi and “Venice-based creative think tank The Ebeling Group.” (These ads are technically a few weeks old, but we’re seeing them for the first time.)
First, a music archivist uses his smartphone to share some top-quality audio with an originator:

Posted in: UncategorizedYahoo Buys Video Ad-Tech Giant BrightRoll for $640 Million
Posted in: UncategorizedYahoo is about to go from an online video also-ran to the country’s widest-reaching digital video ad seller.
On Tuesday, Yahoo announced that it has agreed to acquire video ad-tech firm BrightRoll for $640 million in cash. Expected to close in the first quarter of 2015, the deal is the portal’s second-largest acquisition under CEO Marissa Mayer, behind last year’s $1.1 billion acquisition of Tumblr.
Until recently Yahoo’s biggest revenue stream was display advertising. But that business has been in a rut for a couple years. The company’s display ad revenue hasn’t had a quarter of year-over-year growth since the third quarter of 2012. The problem: advertisers aren’t interested in buying Yahoo’s higher-priced “premium” ads, instead preferring relatively cheap ads sold programmatically via computer-based auctions.
