Petsmart Launches Review for Creative Agency

Petsmart is launching a review for its creative account.

The pet-products retailer, which has been handling creative in-house for the last few years, began reaching out to agencies last week, according to executives familiar with the matter. Its last creative agency was Bernstein-Rein, an independent in Kansas City, Mo., which handled the business until it was brought in-house around 2012.

OMD in April picked up Petsmart’s media account following the bankruptcy of its previous media shop, KSL Media. Consultancy Mercer Island is fielding the review process.

These Mobile Tech Entrepreneurs Found Love in Data

They connect social media data to their calendars to get up to speed on people they’ll meet that day. The egg tray in their fridge alerts them when they’re low on yolks. She’s a former IBM researcher who’s studied Swahili, Sanskrit and C+. He’s a former hip-hop DJ with a penchant for vintage motorcycles.

Life isn’t just an emerging tech data onslaught for MobileROI Co-Founders Puneet Mehta and Sonpreet Bhatia. Sometimes it’s an ayurvedic cup of warm milk with turmeric and organic honey.

The first annual NYC BigApps competition in 2009 steered them from gigs in the financial industry into the world of mobile software. Their NYC Way iPhone app compiled several resources for tourists and residents into one, scored an honorable mention at the conference, and a chance to meet then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

BBH Group CEO Gwyn Jones Will Step Down by Year End

After 27 years with BBH Group, Gwyn Jones will step down from his role as group CEO by the end of the year, to be replaced by Neil Munn, who is now chief operating officer.

Mr. Jones’ departure comes two years after Publicis Groupe purchased the remaining 51% stake in the agency in July 2012, a deal which required senior managers like Mr. Jones to remain at the agency through this year.

Mr. Jones spent his entire career at BBH, starting as a trainee. He moved to the U.S. in 2004 to head the New York office and returned to the U.K. as group COO in 2008, taking on the CEO role in 2012. In announcing his departure, Mr. Jones said in a statement “When I’ve taken a break, I have some other investments and opportunities that I want to pursue and maybe spend a little less time on planes.”

W+K Portland Helps Craig Robinson Protect His Dodge Dart

Amazingly, comedians Craig Robinson and Jake Johnson had yet to appear in any major films, shows or campaigns together before this week.

That all changed with the release of these inaugural clips in W+K Portland‘s new campaign for client Dodge. The theme is simple: no one can touch Robinson’s new Dart — even his equally famous and strangely nosy neighbor.

That’s the first of three :30 spots…
