DDB Budapest Launches Tweet-Based Friday the 13th Experiment

Seeing as it’s Friday, June 13 and all, DDB’s Hungarian branch has decided to get into the spirit of the most superstitious date of the year via Twitter. The agency has launched a simple, one-day project that aims to find out how your Friday the 13th is going simply by using the hashtag #lucky or #unlucky in your tweets. The main goal of the 24-hour effort is to find out if Friday the 13th is really deserving of all the negativity that’s been attached to it through the ages, and from the looks of it on the live “Friday the 13th: The Experiment” site, today is proving to be more auspicious than unlucky. Well, there’s still over 14 hours to go so we’ll see what happens when the end results are posted tomorrow. While our day’s been neither lucky nor unlucky thus far, we’re just saddened by the lack of a Jason Voorhees appearance in this project (though the Tupac one is, um, interesting).

Barkley Kansas City Execs Star in ‘The Creation of Adam’ Mural

Today a little birdie tells us that a new mural in the Kansas City offices of Barkley has caused something of a stir.

Seems executives at the “largest employee-owned advertising agency in the US” petitioned an artist to recreate “The Creation of Adam” in mural form starring themselves in the key roles. Here’s the work in question:

The credits: CEO Jeff King, left, stars as Adam with CCO Don McKinney playing the role of God the father.

A 21 year veteran of advertising and design, Harrari joined Barker in 2006 as a creative director and has worked on campaigns for clients such as Atkins Nutritionals, IDB Bank, Kiss Nails, Parx Casino and Estée Lauder.

Lu will “lead the agency’s digital team which specializes in user experience design, strategy and digital production” as senior vice president of interactive. Now you can be the bear from the Canal + spot

Do you remember the Bear form the Canal + spot?
Of course you do. it was one of the best spots in the past five years. By the way, Monsieur Ours has a name and it’s Paul Bearman. So freaking cute!

Anyway, BETC and company have rightly brought him back for a very fun interactive site. In it, you have hte chance to Be the bear. It’s a kind of Choose Your Own Adventure, but with you as director. Very fun.

Ad Fraud Such a Big Problem, It Gets a Midtown Billboard

Online ad fraud is a really big problem. How big? One company’s promise to fight it was recently slapped on a Midtown New York billboard — just steps away from Times Square.

New York based video ad server Vindico is behind the campaign, which will run indefinitely.

“Expect to see more billboards in locations strategically around New York City and possibly other markets, we’ve really just begun,” said Vindico president Matt Timothy in an email.
