O artista digital Alex Mitchell parece gostar de fazer releituras de super-heróis, usando a cultura oriental como inspiração. Depois de reimaginar Os Vingadores como guerreiros japoneses, ele foi além transformando os X-Men em samurais.
Para cada um dos personagens, Mitchell como foi seu processo de reimaginá-los. Tempestade, por exemplo, virou Kaminchu, divindade que além de controlar o tempo, também tem grande habilidade com armas.
O Professor X virou o Master Zenjirou, que já foi um grande mestre espadachim, que hoje é capaz de usar seu próprio “ki” (energia interior) para lutar com seus oponentes. Claro que ele também é capaz de “ler” a energia do inimigo.
Wolverine também não perdeu sua identidade ao ser transformado em Mujina, um guerreiro com super habilidades de luta. Ele usa duas espadas amaldiçoadas, Toratsume, capaz de curar seu mestre, e Ryuutsume, cuja lâmina é inquebrável.
É um trabalho bem legal, que vai além da ilustração, mas envolve muita pesquisa.
