That’s the power of a few choice tags (the only nsfw part of the whole thing), an intriguing title and a still frame in just the right spot in the video. Posted in: UncategorizedI doubt anyone needed a commercial that teaches you how to download apps for the iphone, since half the planet owns the phone by now. But I love this iphone application. Although I don’t really know anyone that is using it for any real purpose. One of my personal faves is the virtual beer, also not being used for any real purpose. What’s your favorite iphone app?
Clearly Apple is a superior brand. And this phone is such a giant just dominating the market. Is there any phone that will ever top this one?

Posted in: UncategorizedAnd the Winners Are…
Posted in: UncategorizedThe winners of the Oreo Moments Contest have been chosen. The contest rules originally stated that only one grand prize winner would be chosen, but I guess both of the videos were so good that the judges couldn’t be bothered to do their job and make a decision. So the two lucky winners are the undoubtedly thrilled recipients of the much coveted award- their video featured on youtube. Um, kudos? Damn, Oreo’s couldn’t at least spring for a free pack of cookies?

OK! Magazine Allows Misinformation to be Published (Shocker!)
Posted in: UncategorizedPantheons of truth that they are, OK! magazine, has been regulated by the Advertising Standards Authority. Two ads for cosmetic promotions by OK! were yanked when the ASA when they received complaints that the products did not do what they claimed. According to the article the ASA reviewed the ads and concluded that, “Although the photographer and one model said the photographs had not been altered in any way, we considered that the ‘before’ photographs clearly showed different shadows and, therefore, lighting, than the ‘after’ photographs.” That’s really nothing new. I see those damn Dr. Zizmor ads every morning and there’s no question they’re fakes, but they have been pulled. Although everytime I’m at Dylan’s Candy Bar (which isn’t that often, seriously) I look upstairs and that office and feel inclined to go in for consultation. If the ASA is gonna regulate one, they should really regulate all. They can start with the back pages of the Village Voice. That’s some false advertising.

Crop Circles Promote Whole Wheat Pizza
Posted in: UncategorizedScrabble Hates Fun
Posted in: UncategorizedI was thoroughly miffed the day I realized that I couldn’t get to work late sign into my Facebook account and shoot the shit with a quick two hour game of Scrabulous anymore. And now employees in the UK are feeling that same pain. According the Brand Republic, those killjoys over a Mattel have put the kibosh on the game there too after filing a trademark infringement lawsuit against the game designing brothers, Rajat and Jayant Agarwalla, that created the Facebook version (they made a formal request that it be removed in the US and Canada last month). This can’t possibly be a smart brand move. Can it? I mean it might not have brand damaging effects, but it’s certain to put a bad taste in the mouths of consumers. Which begs the question- What would have been the smarter move for Mattel in this situation? Surely they could have found there opportunity to capatilize on that seemingly new found market. It’s not as if the Facebook generation is running to their nearest Walmart to stock up on board games. This could have been their chance to take their brand in a slightly different direction. First stop Facebook. Next stop Wii. Missed opportunity?
