Will fake ‘Machete’ become a real movie?

The terms “real†and “fake†can start to lose all meaning when you talk about 2007’s Grindhouse by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. To ramp up the “realism†of their “fake†drive-in double feature, the duo worked with friends to create fake trailers. (You can watch them in their nudity-packed, blood-splattered glory on YouTube, at least until someone reports the video.) Now, one of those fake previews is supposedly being made into a real movie. With me so far? The Movie Blog unearthed this poster for Machete, although commenters point out that it’s been floating around since Grindhouse came out. So is Machete really being made? Wikipedia says yes. (And if there’s one place I trust to tell real from fake, it’s Wikipedia.) Sadly, there’s still no word on a release date for Werewolf Women of the SS. Via Cinematical.
