Why AOL Bought TechCrunch


NEW YORK (AdAge.com) — AOL built its content-first strategy on Weblogs, a collection of blogs that included Engadget and Joystiq it purchased in 2005. Now it has acquired TechCrunch, the tech and startup news blog founded by former attorney and impresario Michael Arrington for a reported $30 million, including incentives.
