‘Wanted’ ads are too trigger-happy for U.K.

Americans didn’t bat an eye at the posters for the movie Wanted, starring Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy. In England, though, they’ve been banned for glamorizing gun violence. A total of 18 people complained about the ads, which was good enough for the watchdog to nix them. Copy on some of the posters included lines like, “We are a team of assassins, the weapons of fate” and “Six weeks ago I was just like you … and then I met her … and my world was changed forever.” And they thought the images were tough to take.
