Hallmark is accused of promoting teen sex
Posted in: Uncategorized You’d expect Someecards to mention (even revel in) teenage sex every once in a while, but Hallmark? No way. Yet that’s precisely what Hallmark is doing with the card shown here (copy: “Pardon me … care for some liquid clothes remover?â€), according to Cyndi Desrosiers, a New Hampshire mother. No, wait. Actually, it isn’t at all. There’s nothing that refers to teenagers anywhere on the card, and Cyndi, in protecting the sensibilities of her 18-year-old daughter, comes off as one of those people who thought Mighty Mouse was promoting cocaine use every time flower petals went up his nose. However, she is right to point out the irony of a sex-themed card whose proceeds are going to combat AIDS in Africa. On a related note, I would love to see a Hallmark card for teenage sex.
