Ezibuy Fined for False Advertising
Posted in: UncategorizedIt seems that most companies will do anything to pull out something from their expensive advertising campaigns and the latest addition to that list is Ezibuy which was fined $8,500 for marketing and selling shawls advertised as pashmina (a fine wool) blended with silk when they were made of polyester and cotton.
But while many had expected them to provide an explanation or perhaps contest the allegation, the company had pleaded guilty for breaching the Fair Trading Act.
As part of that, Ezibuy has agreed to get in touch with Australian purchasers of the shawl for whom they have records and offer a full refund to any customer who had bought the shawl and considered they were misled by the labelling.

This is quite pathetic. How can you expect people to trust the transaction over the Internet now due to these misleading advertising practices? The only good side of it though is that at least you know as a consumer, you have some authorities who will protect your best interest.
