Eva Mendes’s nipple finds sanctuary online

A brief cameo by Eva Mendes’s nipple may have put U.S. network censors off their lunch, but that nipple is now roaming free and unencumbered online, as the uncensored version of Calvin Klein’s “Secret Obsession” spot has hit YouTube. Humorously, the ad’s creative director, Fabien Baron, is blaming George W. Bush for the spot’s chilly reception at the networks. “You must be kidding me,” he tells Women’s Wear Daily. “This country really needs a new president—this country is so messed up. It’s such a joke, and it’s quite upsetting, frankly, how hypocritical this country has become. It’s OK for children to see people killed by guns? Spreading a little love right now would be a good idea. … She is being a little sexy, but [the ads] are not provocative. They are really well done. The spot is really beautiful—I really can’t believe this is happening. … I don’t know what else to say.”
