NEW YORK (AdAge.com) — In a cautious move into the original content business, search titan Google announced that its YouTube property has created a $5 million fund to help finance more original videos. The company will invite up to 100 of its existing contributors to submit proposals to win a grant.

O polvo Paul, do aquário Sea Life, em Oberhausen, na Alemanha, se tornou um dos grandes personagens dessa Copa do Mundo ao acertar todos os resultados dos jogos de seu país. Até a derrota da Alemanha para a Sérvia o molusco acertou.
Depois de “dizer” (e acertar) que a Espanha eliminaria a Alemanha na semi-final, o bicho recebeu até ameaças de morte. Mas nada adianta, hoje, sexta-feira, ele fez novamente suas previsões para os dois últimos jogos do torneio.
Apostou na Alemanha contra o Uruguai na disputa pelo terceiro lugar, e por fim, na conquista da Espanha contra a Holanda na grande final.
O que eu acho mais interessante, é o tamanho da fama que o polvo Paul ganhou. Desacreditado no início – até porque ele errou o resultado da final da Eurocopa em 2008 – o molusco agora tem cada movimento registrado por dezenas de cameras, repórteres e curiosos.
Larissa Riquelme e as vuvuzelas certamente se tornarão apenas pequenas lembranças, caso o animal acerte os últimos resultados. E sabem que vai rir ainda mais disso tudo? O aquário Sea Life.
