Campaign for global rugby

The International Rugby Board (IRB) is hoping to capitalise on the success of last autumn’s Rugby World Cup with a new PR drive. The Dublin-based world governing body for rugby has appointed sports agency Vero Communications to advise the IRB on its strategy to spread the game’s global popularity. Vero will also attempt to get rugby reinstated into the Olympic Games. ‘Rugby is experiencing international growth but it is important we don’t stand still,’ said IRB head of comms Greg Thomas. ‘Olympic inclusion is an important element for the game’s future as we seek to develop in global markets.’
