BBC Worldwide/Channel 4 deal ‘weeks’ from agreement

LONDON – BBC Worldwide has proposed a modified, slimmed-down proposal for a joint venture with Channel 4, which the company’s chief executive John Smith is optimistic of signing off within weeks.
