Social media at work causes £1.4bn ‘productivity black hole’

LONDON – Social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter are costing UK firms an estimated £1.4bn a year in lost productivity, according to a survey by an IT consultancy which found that more than half of British office workers are using these sites for personal use while at work.
