ExxonMobil Ad Banned!

No thanks to some mix up as far as which fuel was truly environmentally friendly, ExxonMobil found its ad for LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) pulled due to some inconsistencies as far as cleanest fossil fuels are concerned. Apparently, misleading is one of the main reasons pointed out by the British Watchdog which stated that stating that LNG was environmentally friendly was widely challenged and put into question.

“We concluded that the ad misleadingly implied that natural gas was one of the cleanest sources of energy and that liquefied natural gas was environmentally friendly,” ASA said in a statement.

While the ban is on appeal, ExxonMobil stands firm that they accurately stated that natural gas is one of the worlds’ cleanest fuels and that liquefied natural gas will play an important role in delivering new energy supplies.
