The GAM Museum: The Dignity Museum

Today in Chile there is a pandemic that has been going on for more than 30 years and which is little talked about these days, INEQUALITY. Chile has been regarded globally as a case of economic success in recent decades. However, a silent enemy grew in the shadows of this apparent success: Chile is one of the countries with the greatest social inequality. This led to the largest social explosion in the past 30 years, mobilizing miles of people on the streets with a single cry: Dignity. An explosion that gave rise to an artistic expression that believes that you only learn from history if it is not erased. Thus the Museum of Dignity was born. A non-profit creative collective that selects works made spontaneously by different artists. The selected pieces were framed in gold to highlight them on the walls and preserve them there forever. The criteria was purely artistic and conceptual. The museum’s message went as far as the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center decided to rescue “El Gabriela” and become part of its permanent exhibition. Adding also to the purpose of the Museum of Dignity: Perpetuate memory for the inequality of the past, leave the place to Dignity for all Chileans.

Huskies is helping to launch the “Conversation Piece” campaign, which consists of a series of light installations that will be projected onto landmarks across Dublin over the coming weeks, starting with the iconic Poolbeg Chimneys in Dublin.

The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness around the importance of social connection and encourage meaningful conversation, especially amongst men, as recent research findings show that 30% of men feel more lonely than before Covid-19 and 84% find it helpful when they get asked how they’re doing.

The message of solidarity “Together we stand”, projected on the famous Poolbeg Chimneys is the first in a series of collaborations with artists and designers such as Sebastian Barry, Vivienne Roche, Gavin Friday, Domino Whisker, Aches, Mundy and Tiny Ark and many more.

United Way: I Happen to Like New York

There have been many heartwarming stories to come out of the COVID-19 crisis in New York, but perhaps none as emotionally resonant as the nightly salute to the front-line workers who literally put their life on the line every day.

Each evening at 7 p.m., New Yorkers gather on streets (at a safe distance, of course) or lean out of their windows, banging saucepans, clapping, cheering and hollering as exhausted healthcare workers make their way home after a shift.

It’s noisy, passionate and emotional: A quintessential New York salute.
