OMO: OMO Tag

Omo
Detergent brands have been doing sampling in the same way for years, in Lebanon and across the world.
To overcome the difficulty of grabbing people’s attention at traditional shopper marketing points and reinforce its “Dirt is Good” brand purpose, OMO Detergent – a Unilever product and an advocate of an active lifestyle for kids and grown-ups – decided to disrupt in-store sampling, moving away from supermarkets and taking its product to people’s clothes, before they go out and get dirty.
Introducing: the OMO Tag, made completely out of OMO laundry detergent and 100% water-soluble. Just remove the tag and place it inside your washer. One tag is enough to remove the dirt of 3 garments. To kickstart the sampling, OMO has partnered with Sports 4ever, Beirut’s largest chain of sporting merchandise stores, where they will soon add the tag to every sports outfit. “We are very excited to launch the OMO Tag, a first-of-its-kind innovation in the detergents category that is fun, convenient, easy-to-use and most importantly efficient in fighting dirty stains.

Amazon launches a rewards program for apps like TikTok
Posted in: UncategorizedAmazon is giving publishers and developerslike Sesame Workshop, TikTok and the Washington Posta way to deliver products from its e-commerce store to their audiences through a new marketing rewards program.
On Thursday, the company launched what it calls Amazon Moments, which has already been tested for months by a small group of partners. Moments works like this: The publisher or developer asks users to perform an action in their apps or on their websites. For instance, a music subscription service asks someone to listen to 20 hours of music and then sends them a link for a free pair of headphones. Then Amazon takes care of all the shippingif the consumer has an Amazon account, of course. TikTok used the program to give prizes to new users who downloaded and shared videos on its app.
Amazon said that the Washington Post, TikTok, Sony Crackle, Sesame Workshop, Bravo, USA TODAY, Sago Mini and Bell Canada were the first to test the service. The Washington Post is owned by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos.

Schiff is chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.
Husqvarna: Timber
Posted in: Uncategorized

Husqvarna wanted to celebrate and honour the love for the forest that’s shared by many users of their products. So for for this year’s Valentine’s Day, we created Timber – a dating service matching tree lovers with beautiful trees around the globe.
Timber is a tongue-in-cheek spoof of modern dating services: instead of swiping between lovesick singles, the user is presented with different trees that each have their own profiles. Once matched with a tree, it becomes apparent they don’t speak any human languages. Instead, trees such as California Redwood (bragging about it’s size), and The Ol’ Pine (sharing mindfulness quotes) only respond with emojis relating to forestry and flowers.
Apart from the obvious humoristic flirt towards the world of online dating, Timber gives attention to Husqvarna Chainsaw Academy, an online resource aimed at responsible forestry.

Amazon may have pulled its HQ2 plans, but it still has New York digs
Posted in: UncategorizedNew York, Amazon loves you but you’re bringing it down.
On Thursday, the Seattle-based e-commerce giant announced that it would withdraw plans to place its second headquarters in Long Island City, after the company faced a wave of protests.
The Amazon hub would have been the company’s most important headquarters outside of its west coast hometown. Opponents, led most notably by U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, objected to the generous tax package and the opaque process that lured Amazon to the city.

Amazon scraps plan to build a headquarters in New York City
Posted in: UncategorizedAmazon said it’s pulling out of a plan to build a headquarters in New York City, after a backlash from some residents and politicians.
The e-commerce giant had pledged to hire 25,000 tech workers in coming years with an average salary of $150,000. Almost immediately after Amazon announced last year that it chose Long Island City in Queens as one of two sites to build new corporate offices, local lawmakers and community organizers began to question the project, which was backed by Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
“While polls show that 70 percent of New Yorkers support our plans and investment, a number of state and local politicians have made it clear that they oppose our presence and will not work with us to build the type of relationships that are required to go forward with the project we and many others envisioned in Long Island City,” Amazon said in a statement.
Shock drop in U.S. retail sales draws skepticism over data
Posted in: UncategorizedSo much for a merry Christmas. That is, if you trust the numbers.
Commerce Department figures released Thursday show U.S. retail sales fell 1.2 percent in December from the previous month, the most since 2009, rather than the slight increase economists had forecast. Even more confusing: There was a pullback in a measure based largely on internet sales, which had been expected to be the retailing industry’s saving grace this holiday season.
Some analysts reacted not just with surprise but with an unusually large dose of skepticism. Jim O’Sullivan of High Frequency Economics said the figures were so much weaker than expected “that the data lose credibility,” while Stephen Stanley of Amherst Pierpont Securities said the report “seems seriously out of whack” given mostly upbeat comments from retailers about the Christmas season.
