NFL strikes sponsorship deal with Caesars


The National Football League has inked a sponsorship deal with Caesars Entertainment, but the new pact stops well short of anything resembling sports gambling.

The deal gives Caesars the right to use NFL trademarks in the U.S. and U.K. to “promote Caesars casino properties and activate at key NFL events including the Super Bowl and NFL Draft,” according to a joint announcement by Caesars and the NFL.

The deal comes less than a month after the league announced it would host its 2020 NFL Draft in Las Vegas, marking the first time the nation’s gambling capital has hosted the event. Caesars will host elements of the draft, according to Thursday’s announcement.

Passengers who flew Azul Airlines in December were invited to write Christmas cards and decorate Christmas trees when arriving at Viracopos International Airport. Then, the cards were attached to presents and sent to charity institutions. After that, we made a Christmas dinner that was served by some flight attendants. Following the concept of Coca-Cola TV spot “Christmas Rules”, we made an web video that highlights the affirmative values behind every rule, such as “Don’t let your traditions fade away”, “Each present deserves a card”, “There is always room for one more” and “Anything Is Possible at Christmas”. With the slogan “rules have a special taste when we’re together”, we did an activation that turns into a video with more than 2 million views in one week.

Though it’s a slow week for news, there are a lot of headlines about Netflix — probably because binge-watching has become a holiday tradition, up there with mistletoe and mall Santas. Netflix’s Sandra Bullock thriller “Bird Box” is a hit, and Netflix is warning people to be careful if they join in a weird meme that has emerged out of it. In the movie, people wear blindfolds to avoid seeing an ominous presence that’s driving everyone to commit suicide. The meme involves blindfolding yourself and filming it; one video showed a blindfolded toddler careening into a wall. Netflix tweeted, “Can’t believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE.” But isn’t there some tricky reverse psychology going on here? By tweeting about the meme, Netflix is basically fanning the flames to make it spread.

As a final farewell to 2018, the editors of Ad Age’s Creativity are highlighting the year’s best brand ideas across a range of categories.

Google “elevated” the art of the selfie with this tool added to its Arts & Culture app that matched your face with countenances captured throughout history in classic and modern art. When it debuted in January, the app went straight to the top of Apple’s download charts. Our social feeds became flooded with friends’ painterly doppelgangers and we couldn’t stop playing with it ourselves. We tried it again recently and it’s still plenty of fun– and it seems even more mugs have been added to the mix.
