gogirls

Forrester Says Only 15% of B-to-B Marketers Are Fully Compliant With GDPR

The advertising industry’s digital day of reckoning is a little more than two months away, when the European Union’s wide-ranging regulations for data protection and privacy go into effect on May 25. So it would be rational to think, being only 10 weeks away, brands would be well on their way toward making sure they’re…

Bitcoin Drops as Google Bans Crypto Advertisements

Bitcoin slumped to the lowest level in more than a month after Google said it will ban online advertisements promoting cryptocurrencies and initial coin offerings. Industry officials also said at a Congressional hearing that U.S. regulators need to provide greater clarity.

The world’s biggest digital currency by market value dropped as much as 9.1 percent to $8,238, the lowest price since Feb. 12, as Alphabet Inc.’s Google announced Wednesday that the restriction would be effective in June.

Facebook, Google’s primary rival for ad dollars, banned ads for cryptocurrencies in January. Google’s updated policy came with the release of its annual “bad ads” report, a review of the number of malicious, deceptive and controversial ads Google scrubs from its massive search, display and video network.

Her Majesty's Prison & Probation Service: If It Was Easy, We Wouldn't Need You, 2

Her Majesty's Prison & Probation Service Digital Ad - If It Was Easy, We Wouldn't Need You, 2

It used to take facts to be an expert. Now it takes 140 characters. That’s especially true when it comes to HM Prison & Probation Service in England and Wales. Fueled by a less-than-objective media, this swathe of negative, unsubstantiated and naive opinion makes recruiting into the service incredibly tough. So, when we were challenged to help the service attract 20 new leaders, we decided it was time to stop circumnavigating the conversation. Instead, we joined it. Taking raw, negative and simplistic opinion and putting it front and centre of our campaign.

WPP CEO Sorrell's Bonus Plunges. It's Still Not Too Shabby

WPP’s Martin Sorrell, CEO of the world’s largest advertising company, faces a huge cut in his pay package

Sorrell will receive a long-term bonus of 10 million pounds ($14 million) compared with 41.6 million pounds a year earlier, the company said in a filing on Wednesday.

The pay cut is mostly due to the phasing out of the company’s notoriously generous long-term incentive plan, the Leadership Equity Acquisition Plan, which rewarded the 73-year-old chief handsomely. This year is the first year of a new, less lucrative long-term incentive program called the Executive Performance Share Plan. But it also follows investor criticism and a dismal year.

Chipotle's Top Marketer Crumpacker Resigns

Chipotle Mexican Grill says Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer Mark Crumpacker is leaving the beleaguered company effective March 15.

The departure, called a resignation in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, comes after a tumultuous few years for both the company and Crumpacker. In 2016, as Chipotle was busy trying to recover from the foodborne illness issues that led to steep declines in its sales and stock price, Crumpacker was arrested on cocaine possession charges. His resignation also comes not long after former Taco Bell CEO Brian Niccol came to Chipotle as its CEO on March 5.

Chipotle needs fresh ways to win back diners who have cut down on or eliminated visits to the chain and has ramped up advertising and giveaways in the years since its struggles began.
