Too little too late? Facebook to now audit developers for data abuse

Mark Zuckerberg on Wednesday finally broke his silence about the abuse of data on the platform by Cambridge Analytica, promising to redouble efforts to safeguard user privacy after the exposure of the massive data breach.

“We have a responsibility to protect your data, and if we can’t then we don’t deserve to serve you,” Zuckerberg said in a post on the social network he founded. “I’ve been working to understand exactly what happened and how to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

La Parole Aux Sourds: Unsilenced

The campaign called “Unsilenced” and was created La Parole aux Sourds with the help of ad agency BETC. It’s the first original song sung entirely through sign language and dance, and features a unique collaboration between electronic duo Haute (who composed the instrumentals) and deaf dancer Billy Read (who wrote the lyrics and performed them in the film through dance). What’s unique about the song is that people won’t realize Billy is singing about how it feels to be isolated in your own country. They’ll think he’s just dancing to the music video until we reveal at the end that he was singing all along.
