Christmas wheat is a well-known tradition in Croatia and we decided to share it with the world, literally. We’ve sown 195 bowls of wheat for 195 countries and we were live streaming the growing wheat in a project we call Wheat whisperer.
Why the Whisperer? Everyone has heard the theory that talking to plants helps them grow, so we gave everyone a chance to talk to any of the 195 wheats and encourage its growth!
The situation of women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is alarming. Lack of access to contraception, poor health care and early pregnancy prevent young girls from going to school, which hampers the country’s economic development.

On Saturday, the Donald J. Trump for President channel on YouTube released a campaign ad called “Complicit” that throws a hearty serving of red meat to his base. Right from the start, the 30-second video is designed to shock viewers by showing courtroom footage of Luis Bracamontes, an illegal immigrant accused of killing two Sacramento-area sheriff’s deputies in 2014, saying “Only thing that I f*****g regret is that I f***** just killed two.” (That text also appears on screen.)
An announcer describes Bracamontes as “pure evil” and declares that “President Trump is right. Build the wall! Deport criminals. Stop illegal immigration now. Democrats who stand in our way will be complicit in every murder committed by illegal immigrants.” During the latter line, images of House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Whip Dick Durbin and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer appear on screen.
Alt-right site Breitbart, an enthusiastic supporter of Trump’s immigration policies, took note of something the Republican Speaker of the House had to say about the ad on Sunday: “Paul Ryan on Trump Ad Attacking Dems: ‘I Don’t Know If That’s Necessarily Productive’.”
Audiences watching the Pop cable network or following its social channels will find themselves exposed to a curiously large number of gym ads this week, but not because fitness brands are suddenly targeting the network’s viewers during resolution season. They’re faux (and hilarious) spots created by Pop itself to promote its new competitive aerobics comedy,…
At least, that’s the amusing conceit of the meta four-minute ad. It opens on the actor phoning his agent, feigning indignation at the overwrought monologue he’s supposedly been asked to deliver as an intro to the AFC Championship Game. Before long, he’s storming down to interrogate the young (and somewhat clueless) director during an orchestra…
Brands wisely investing in influencer marketing may be stupidly short-sighted when it comes to measuring the actual value of what they’re buying. Unfortunately for marketers, the vast majority of approaches to measuring the value of earned media and influencer programs are seriously limited by a focus on the post, as opposed to the content. It’s…
I am the greatest! Apple continues its “Shot on iPhone” campaign with “Selfies on iPhone X,” an ode to the self-gratifying art form. The work is spearheaded with spoken word from Muhammad Ali (from the 1963 comedy album “I Am the Greatest”), spouting bombastic phrases like, “I’m going to become champion of the universe!” to…
Publicis Groupe has named Nick Law, longtime R/GA creative leader, as chief creative officer of the holding company and president of Publicis Communications.
Law, who has been at R/GA since 2001, most recently as global CCO, will officially take on the newly created dual Publicis role in May. He will also join the executive committee and report directly to Publicis Groupe Chairman and CEO Arthur Sadoun.
Sadoun told Ad Age that the decision to create the Publicis Groupe CCO role originated last June at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity when he announced the launch of AI-powered professional assistant platform Marcel and the decision to take a year off from any awards programs or promotional investments.
Accenture showed it was serious about moving into marketing services in 2017. It must prove it can win business in 2018, writes Campaign’s head of media.
