SodaStream: Nanodrop

SodaStream International Ltd. (NASDAQ:SODA), the world’s No. 1 sparkling water brand, announced on March 31, that it was the brand behind NanoDrop; a fun new April Fools’ marketing campaign featuring one of today’s most recognizable television, media personalities and entrepreneurs, the iconic Paris Hilton. The campaign brings attention to the environmental scourge our planet faces due to pollution from single use plastic water bottles.

The SodaStream NanoDrop campaign features humorous video content starring Paris Hilton who appears to debut the latest invention, from her very own ‘Paris Hilton Institute of Plastic Pollution Solutions’ (PHIPPS): NanoDrop ‘a highly condensed sparkling water.’

In the video, Hilton describes how witnessing the harmful effects of plastic pollution has driven her to use her influence to take action. The video explains how Ms. Hilton and her team of PHIPPS scientists created a revolutionary new water product – 5000 times more hydrating than regular water. Ms. Hilton points out that only one drop of NanoDrop is necessary to maintain a healthy level of hydration, whilst cutting out the need to carry heavy plastic bottles that pollute our planet. As each drop is equal to one glass of water, regular use of the product should save up to 1,500 plastic bottles per person every year.

A follow up “reveal” video to the initial prank, housed on the official NanoDrop website, furthers the narrative and explains that a “slight” error in calculation has caused some hydration problems. Revealing the satire, Hilton explains that, in fact, SodaStream is a great way to achieve healthy hydration without harmful plastic bottle pollution and the inconvenience of lugging heavy bottles of water.

As a brand-launching entrepreneur and businesswoman, Hilton was chosen by SodaStream as the perfect ambassador for the campaign. “I loved working on this campaign as it delivers a really important message in a funny way that empowers everyone to make better choices and promotes a healthier and sustainable way of life,” Hilton said in a statement. “I’m always open to new ways to stay healthy and hydrated, but while it’s clear that getting our daily water intake is important, carrying home plastic bottles in the process is unnecessary when we have a great alternative in SodaStream.”

“Using fresh tap water and a SodaStream sparkling water maker to stay hydrated is an easy and economical solution for consumers – one that doesn’t involve lugging bottles home or polluting the planet,” said Matti Yahav, VP Global Marketing, SodaStream International. “We brought Paris Hilton and an edgy campaign to help us draw attention to the issue in a way that is fun and entertaining. Millions of consumers are using SodaStream worldwide and we hope millions more will join us in saving our planet from plastic bottles.”

SYU: Hands

Our craftsmen have been restoring tradition using bare hands – a tool, that lends character to every hand-crafted product. The printing block when dipped in dye and stamped firmly by competent hands on fabric is a statement of originality. You may be struck not only by that, but also the lack of consistency, which actually is design.

By now, over 2,000,000 people saw them on People You May Know section. Vitaliy Shukan was caught a few months after the project had been launched. The project has already been adopted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus as a criminal search tool.

With a lively streak of politics.

“You write ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ and after you write this song you go, ‘Okay, this one is perhaps the biggest air-played song of all times,'” Wyclef said. “Then you go, ‘Well, is this how I want to leave the earth?’ I come from this place. I used to ride a donkey and so this is what I want the world to understand about me. So now you’re fighting because your agents and everyone’s like, ‘Yo, dude. Don’t go there. You’re basically gonna lose it all. Like, do not. Stay away from politics. Don’t go.'”

Hill Holliday Beats Out Zimmerman for Party City Business

Party City selected Boston-based Hill Holliday as its lead creative, digital and media agency, following a review launched in February which saw longtime incumbent Zimmerman Advertising defend the account. At least one source tells us Barkley also pitched.

We reached out to Zimmerman for comment but have yet to receive a response, which may be because the Ft. Lauderdale agency has also handled PR for Party City.

“While we are sorry to part ways with Party City, we understand that new management often triggers new agencies,” Zimmerman CEO Michael Goldberg said in a statement published by AdAge.”That said, we will always root for them and take pride knowing we helped them double their revenue, more than doubled their profits, increased unaided awareness from 26% to 86% and drove positive comp sales every year of our relationship — something unheard of in today’s retail marketplace.”

Zimmerman’s most well-known work for the brand was this 2009 Halloween spot set to Michael Jackson‘s “Thriller.”

Zimmerman recently picked up creative lead duties on Nissan as the client restructured its relationship with Omnicom in North America. Hill Holliday, meanwhile, parted ways with John Hancock after over 30 years last month.

According to Kantar Media, Party City spent around $50 million in 2015 and $27 million from January to September of 2016.

Bloomberg Media Poaches Pair of Creative Directors From BBH New York, CAA Marketing

Bloomberg Media continued to grow its in-house marketing team by hiring Shannon McGlothin and Nathaniel Pincus-Roth as creative directors.

Global CCO Teddy Lynn, who joined Bloomberg Media from Ogilvy & Mather New York in December, announced the appointments in an internal memo, stating, “Both Shannon and Nathaniel bring depth and experience to our creative team, and will be critical in delivering on our ambition to build first-class custom content campaigns and experiences for Bloomberg Media clients across our multiple platforms.”

Upon Lynn’s arrival in December, CEO Justin B. Smith told Adweek that Bloomberg Media was “launching ambitious plans to expand our creative, marketing services and custom content capabilities.”Shannon McGlothin

McGothlin joined BBH New York as an executive creative director from Omelet around a year ago and co-ran the global Vaseline account before leaving in January to go freelance. He spent a little over two years with Omelet as a group creative director and executive creative director, and worked on the agency’s Super Bowl spot for Pokémon. Before that, McGothlin spent a year with Leo Burnett as an executive creative director on Samsung, served as a group creative director with Deutsch L.A and as an associate creative director with CP+B in Boulder, working with brands including Coca-Cola and Gap.

Nathaniel Pincus-RothPincus-Roth has spent over eight years with CAA Marketing and notably worked on its 2014 “Unlimited” back-to-school effort for Old Navy. In addition to Old Navy, he has also worked with brands including Diet Coke, Chipotle, Cadillac, Chevrolet and QVC.

Below we’ve included Lynn’s internal memo in full:

All,

As we continue to develop and expand our creative strategy, I’m excited to welcome two new creative directors who have joined our ranks today: Shannon McGlothin and Nathaniel Pincus-Roth.

Both Shannon and Nathaniel bring depth and experience to our creative team, and will be critical in delivering on our ambition to build first-class custom content campaigns and experiences for Bloomberg Media clients across our multiple platforms.

Shannon was most recently Executive Creative Director at BBH New York, where he ran the global Vaseline account. He was previously ECD at the Publicis agency Omelet, where he contributed to campaigns for Pokemon and the gaming company Ubisoft. He’s held senior creative roles at Wieden + Kennedy, Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Deutsch and Leo Burnett. Throughout his 15+ year career, Shannon has developed award-winning campaigns for brands like Samsung, Nike, Coca-Cola and Macy’s, earning him recognition from Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show and The Clio Awards.

Nathaniel joins us from Creative Artists Agency. After spending his first three months in the mailroom delivering packages as part of the company’s famed trainee program, he worked his way up the ranks becoming a creative director in CAA’s Marketing Group. With that team he made groundbreaking work for brands like Old Navy, QVC, Diet Coke, Cadillac and Chevrolet as well as Cannes Lions Grand Prix work for Chipotle. Nathaniel’s background fuses creative and business, having received his MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.

Shannon and Nathaniel will be based in New York. Their many talents will strengthen our already robust custom content efforts and allow us to deliver campaigns that will generate impact and alter the world view of our clients.

Please join me in welcoming them to Bloomberg Media.
