Twitter Bans a Breitbart Editor for Leading Abuse Campaign Against Actress Leslie Jones

Known by his Twitter handle @Nero, Mr. Yiannopoulos is accused of leading an online campaign of racial and sexual taunts against Leslie Jones, who appeared in the “Ghostbusters” remake last week. Fed up with the abuse, Ms. Jones said Tuesday that she was leaving Twitter for good.

“No one deserves to be subjected to targeted abuse online, and our rules prohibit inciting or engaging in the targeted abuse or harassment of others,” Nu Wexler, a spokesman for San Francisco-based Twitter, said in a statement. “Over the past 48 hours in particular, we’ve seen an uptick in the number of accounts violating these policies and have taken enforcement actions against these accounts, ranging from warnings that also require the deletion of Tweets violating our policies to permanent suspension.”

Mr. Yiannopoulos, who had more than 338,000 followers on Twitter, responded in a comment on Breitbart, saying that Twitter’s actions violated the right to free speech.

MTV Debuts 'Gaze-Activated' VR Experience for 'Teen Wolf' at Comic-Con

Fans of virtual reality and “Teen Wolf” are in for a treat at this week’s Comic-Con in San Diego. MTV is introducing the first “gaze-activated” VR experience with live action, in which a viewer’s “gaze” within a 360-degree video affects the outcome of a scene.

AT&T, a partner since the show’s first season, is sponsoring the “Teen Wolf” VR experience. It will premiere at Comic-Con’s preview night and can be viewed through an Oculus headset at MTV’s booth from Thursday to Sunday.

“This is a true extension of the show with completely new technology,” said Matt McDonough, senior director of digital strategy and fan engagement at MTV. “We always try to get fans more involved.”

Bevel Escapes With Few Nicks From Ad Scrape With Gillette

Any doubts that multi-blade behemoth Gillette has noticed the competition from tiny Bevel single-blade safety razors has now been put to rest. So has most of the Procter & Gamble Co. brand’s challenge to Bevel’s ad claims before the National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus.

The NAD today issued a finding that Bevel can support certain modified claims for its single-blade razors, though it did recommend the brand discontinue claims its razor system is “clinically proven” or “dermatologist recommended.”

It found Bevel — developed by Walker & Co. for people of color with coarse, curly hair — could support the claim that regular use of its single-blade razors could help improve pseudofolliculitis barbae (PFB), or the uncomfortable bumps, ingrown hairs and skin irritation that can be a side effect of shaving. PFB can lead to hyperpigmentation and scarring. It affects up to 20% of Caucasian men and a far larger proportion of African American men and other people of color, the NAD noted.

Duchenne: Strengthen the movement

Film
Duchenne

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a genetic muscle-wasting disease that almost exclusively affects males. There is currently no cure and in most cases boys do not live beyond their twenties.

While the degenerative condition makes the boys physically weak, having to live with this reality makes them incredibly strong; in a sense they are the World’s Strongest Boys. We wanted to draw attention to these boys’ strong, defiant spirit by juxtaposing the world of physical strength and fitness with their remarkable inner strength.

The brand’s launch campaign enlists a cast of famous sporting heroes and other performers to create short films showcasing jaw-dropping feats of physical strength which, shared via the sports stars’ social channels, then direct the public to a website, https://worldsstrongestboys.duchenneuk.org, where a 60-second film reveals the true identity of the World’s Strongest Boys, shown through the eyes of 10-year old DMD sufferer Alex Hallam.
