Museum of Broken Relationships: Cut the drama

This Valentine’s Day in several cities around the world huge bolt cutters were installed for cutting off the love padlocks. In accordance with its mission to find a home for the heritage of broken love relationships, the Museum of Broken Relationships from Zagreb wishes to encourage everyone who broke up to also cut off their love padlocks and set their heart free symbolically, and at the same time physically unburden the bridges and other love padlocks carriers for new happy love relationships.

The bolt cutters have been installed on the same day in Moscow, Vienna, Berlin, Hamburg, London, Antwerp, Zagreb, Drvenik (Croatian coast) and San Francisco. The broken padlocks and stories behind them will find their home in the Museum of Broken Relationships, if their owners decide to share their experience by donating the padlock via brokenships.com.

Even though the initiative started on Valentine’s Day, its goal is to raise awareness and invite people who ended their relationships to break their love padlocks even after Valentine’s Day and send them to the Museum if they want. The initiative can be followed via social networks by using the hashtag #cutthedrama.

Ice Caves Photography in Iceland

Fans Pirate 'Fifty Shades of Grey' More Than 400,000 Times Despite Shaky Copies

Movie theaters aren’t the only place viewers are choosing to enjoy “Fifty Shades of Grey.”

Pirated copies of the erotic drama from Universal Pictures were downloaded 453,109 times through Feb. 16, according to the monitoring firm Excipio GmbH. That’s more than twice as much, by comparison, as 2014’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” on its first weekend.

Poor-quality copies taken by camcorders at screenings appeared on file-sharing sites on Feb. 14 — the day after the R-rated movie, about a sadomasochistic love affair, was released in U.S. theaters. By Monday, the film was the fifth-most pirated in the U.S. Usually piracy doesn’t take hold without a high- quality version, according to the editor of the file-sharing news site TorrentFreak, who goes by the pseudonym Ernesto Van Der Sar. Embarrassment over going to theaters may be one reason it’s so popular, he said.

Ebay North America CMO Exits Amid Restructuring

Ebay’s North America CMO, Richelle Parham, is exiting the company. Her departure came as Ebay merged its branding and communications teams, which will now be led by the chief communications officer at Ebay.

“Going forward, the eBay brand will be managed as part of a single, integrated communications and brand team,” the company said in a statement. “As part of these changes, which Richelle has been involved in shaping, she decided that now is the right time to transition and pursue other opportunities.”

Ebay added that marketing will continue to be handled by each region, and overseen by a newly-formed global growth organization.
