This is ernst.
He is a real shelf warmer and doesn’t care a lot about advertising. Although we could convince him to be on that photo.
A Shelf-warmer is some kind of a “natural enemy” of everybody working in the advertising industry. The german word for shelf-warmer is Ladenhüter. “Laden” in german has 2 meanings: store and drawer. Translated word for word it means “drawerkeeper”. We sent the drawers with the poster inside to our clients (AD-agencies). Each person received a different drawer (5 different wooden colours and a lot of different knobs). By keeping the drawers, they became “Ladenhüter” themselves. (In german “ernst” also means serious.)

Chinese PR group BlueFocus Communications is taking a big step toward becoming an international player with the $30 million acquisition of five-year-old social media agency We Are Social. The London-based agency also has offices in New York, Paris, Milan, Munich, Sydney, Sao Paulo and Singapore.
We Are Social, which claims to be the world’s largest specialist social media agency network with revenue of $57 million this year, is selling an 82.8% interest in the business. The founders, Robin Grant and Nathan McDonald, will stay on and drive expansion into new territory, expected to begin with China.
“When we set out to find a partner, this wasn’t the answer I was expecting,” said Mr. Grant. “We were wary of the perceived cultural differences, but from day one we developed an empathy with BlueFocus that we have built on over the last year.
Liberty Mutual has selected Havas Worldwide, New York, as its creative agency and Publicis Groupe’s Optimedia as its media agency, according to multiple executives.
The Boston-based company had worked with Interpublic’s Hill Holliday since 2005 for creative and media, and it’s believed that the agency will retain a piece of the insurer’s Olympics-related business. Aside from Havas and Hill Holliday, Dentsu’s McGarryBowen and Interpublic’s Mullen also participated in the creative review, which launched in June. WPP’s Mediacom also competed in the media review.
Hill Holiday and Havas declined to comment. Optimedia referred calls to Liberty Mutual, which did not immediately respond to calls for comment.
