Learn More about Pancreatic Cancer
Posted in: UncategorizedAt the rate that diseases are cropping up one after another, the best thing that people can hope for is to find ways on how to prevent them. Ideally, cancer is the worst of all diseases and they can hit practically any part of the human body like the lungs, breast and in this case the pancreas.
As terms, they may seem familiar but unless a person would know someone who may be suffering from it or perhaps him, chances are that would be the only time he would try to find out things about it. At this stage it may all be too late as far as searching for preventive measures or remedies against it.
We have people to thank for offering such awareness campaigns. These public service ads aim to serve a purpose. They should be lauded and hopefully make people aware that they are meant to provide information and hopefully some preventive measures as well.
“Pancreatic cancer is a highly aggressive and lethal disease that needs more attention and we think Cablevision is in a unique position to help,” said Cablevision president and CEO James Dolan. “We will use the strength and breadth of [our] reach to take on this battle in a very public way and to, hopefully, help advance a cause that needs more funding and increased awareness so that someday a cure can be found.”

Will Porning of America Ever Be Explained?
Posted in: UncategorizedWhile we all know that pornography has severely gone beyond bounds, it would be interesting to note how and where it all started. Originally started out as an art, we can see through the years how it has evolved into something awry in the eyes of people, perhaps a testament to why pornography has become one of the highly criticized subjects in the world today.
It may be crazy to note that pornography as an art was never that severe in the early years. We can take our cue from this book, “The Porning of America” which tries to serve as a jumping point for discussion concerning sex and sexuality within the contemporary American framework.
This book aims to spearhead a new debate about the role of sexuality, sexual activity and liberation in general in the coming generation of American society. It may be interesting to see what this book has to shed as far as pornography and sexuality is concerned.

Posted in: UncategorizedPost Dell Knell: Foreclose On EuroRSCG Andy Bennett, Mary Perhach And Bruce Haynes
Posted in: UncategorizedAndrew Bennett, CEO Euro RSCG New York, Mary Perhach, Chief Communications Officer and Bruce Haynes of NMPA, National Media have decided to say a few words about the bailout in the form of a press release. Read it here. It’s one of those things that at first, makes you chuckle, then makes leaves you slack jawed, eyes wide.
The threesome have decided to comment on the decision to stop calling the financial a bailout and rebranding it as rescue instead. It isn’t working, by the way. Reporters are getting in their digs and are now using “bailout/rescue.”
Weird that this release comes now. The name change has already taken place, so why are they talking about it posthumously? If they had released this little diatribe before the switch, everyone would be clapping then on the back saying, “Good job Andy and Mar-Mar! Jolly oh, Bruce!”
But, now? Dudes. You’re too late. Every major newspaper from Kansas to Los Angeles has covered the rebranding with experts, politicians, weighing in. This was just a little navel gazing exercise for you guys, huh? A little press push perhaps?
It gets a little more complicated later on in the 600 word “open letter.” Exhibit A: “What if this had been called a “rescue” from the beginning? Or the “Save our Homes Act”? Supporting a “rescue”

Posted in: UncategorizedBoutique Call: Intro and Nonbox
Posted in: UncategorizedIn an effort to reach out to those of you who don’t slave for the BDAs, we’re starting a new feature, right here and right now, that’s meant specifically for the small to mid sized shops. Readers, meet Boutique Call. Please don’t take the word “boutique” the wrong way — it just worked so well in our little double entendre.
We hope this feature will go down like this: as often as we can, we’ll write brief posts about small to mid-sized shops (one per day, we imagine). The ball is in your court to send us a brief description of your shop, and the key players working there/the clients that pay your kids’ college tuition.
Here’s a real example.
Agency/Location: Nonbox, Hales Corners, Wisconsin
Motto: “Nonbox was established to…help people learn to trust your brands”
Founded: 1959 by ad-mogul William Eisner (the shop was called “William Eisner & Associates back in those days), Nonbox was so named by William’s son Bill, who took over the agency after his father died in 1990.
About: Collectively, Nonbox has three locations — making it a mid-sized agency with offices in Orlando and Portland. BJ Bueno and Steve Karakas run those offices, with interactive coming out of Florida and marketing out of Portland.
Clients: On the roster, they’ve got Coca-Cola, CAT, Adidas, Harley, UNICEF, Scheels and more.
Something Fun: Every Tuesday they serve their employees custard. It’s Wisconsin’s version of ice cream, and it is de-lisch.
So now you know. Tell us about your shop, by e-mailing matt@mediabistro dot com.

Jack White Vs. Coca-Cola
