T-Mobile G1 + Google Android = Handheld Ad server?
Posted in: Uncategorized
So with the recent launch of the latest iPhone fighter the T-Mobile G1 powered by Google Android presents an interesting question. With the latest deal struck between Google and Yahoo and more companies moving toward the third screen will this be the new gold standard?I would guess that shortly after the October roll out of the G1 media planners and buyers at agencies will get some very interesting text messages from our friends at Google. We all know they have a brain trust rivaled by few and the web experts at Double Click are always pushing the boundaries. My question to you, reader is this: Is it ok? Do you find Your cell the last untouched refuge from ads or do you welcome the advertising? Finally should ad be an opt in and reduce your monthly bill? Talk to me.

Droga5 and Sarah Silverman have thrown their hats in the fierce political furnace that is the 2008 Presidential Election. Pro-Obama Jewish voters have organized to mobilize young Jews to go to Florida to convince their grandparents to vote for Obama. Seriously. It’s actually not a bad idea.
The Jewsvote.org campaign is called the “The Great Schlep” and stars the fabulous Sarah Silverman. Droga5 produced the video. One of the good things about Droga is that they manage to keep their fingers in all the right pots.

Ed McMahon Gets Jiggy Wit It
Posted in: UncategorizedWelcome to the alternate universe. Eighty-five year old Ed McMahon is the new front man on a FreeCreditReport.com commercial. The company contacted Ed after hearing that the Star Search host had fallen behind on his mortgage to the tune of $640,00. Ed will be rapping and acting like a pimp in said commercials according to HuffPo.
One part of Ed is probably deeply mortified. Yet, some other part of the big guys is loving it. When reporters asked him if he would be releasing a full-length rap album, McMahon said: “Not immediately.” Ed is getting some cash, a little love from the world. He’s probably dreaming about being on TMZ in the next few weeks. Gawd bless, ya Ed!
