Denny’s jumps into the presidential race
Posted in: Uncategorized
You have to admire Denny’s for flinging every marketing idea at the wall, like so many half-eaten Moons Over My Hammy, until something sticks. For the teens, there’s a campaign to recast the eatery as a hip and rockin’ late-night club. As if that premise didn’t stretch reality to the breaking point, the chain has now kicked off “America Votes for Real,†a contest which, according to Brandweek, asks “John McCain and Barack Obama look-alikes … to submit a video of themselves advocating ‘real breakfast.’ †It’s original, I’ll give them that. The winners get a free meal every month at Denny’s until the next presidential election in 2012. If nominated, I will not accept; if drafted, I will not run—I’m dreading what Denny’s will elect to serve.
