Videogames like these will rent themselves
Posted in: UncategorizedWongDoody’s new spots for GameFly show videogame characters using the game-rental service. The spot above shows a paratrooper, mid-drop, placing a GameFly order. What if he forgets to pull the cord? Luckily, he doesn’t—and he arrives home safely to find the game waiting for him. The mix of styles is fun, but where’s the reference to the seminal Pong and Blip environments? Sure, that paratrooper’s reflexes are quick enough to work a laptop at 1,200 feet—but the kids in this 1977 commercial could kick his ass at Blip. What a wuss. Someone should make a commercial fusing the various scenarios of BlueFly’s spots through the years. Just don’t invite the kids to play.
