The Simpsons’ ‘Homer’ Car Turned into Reality by Racing Team


Forget bailouts, could this be the saviour of the American auto industry?

When Homer Simpson was asked to design his dream car, in series 2 of The Simpsons, he came up with ‘The Homer’: a customized set of wheels with features like gigantic cupholders, restraints and muzzles for quarreling kids and three horns blaring La Cucuracha.

Priced at $82,000, it never came to market in the show, but now racing team Porcubimmer has made it a reality. According to TIME’s Techland, a race car version of “The Homer” will be competing at the 24 Hours of LeMons race on June 29 in Buttonwillow, California. We hope Detroit is watching closely.
