Political Candidates Prey on World Issues

It was just a matter of timing and of course finding the right time to place them but expanding their political platforms to connect with current world issues such as oil and the latest financial debacle to hurt Wall Street is not really surprising. They will always want a share of the limelight. In fact, some of them may even campaign their own solution to the problem.

But as far as believing in their ideas is another. Campaigning is about drawing attention. That is one case in point. But believing that they will really do something about it remains to be seen. It has happened in the past and neither Obama, McCain or even Sarah Palin looks like they are any different. Good Luck to US!

Like a Dickens novel, these are, “the best of times and the worst of times” for Alaska and Alaskans. It is no coincidence that just when Alaska was taking control of its oil field destiny, acting like an owner state, the political game was changed by forces beyond its control and the opportunity lost. Thanks to an ingenious political maneuver, orchestrated by Big Oil, Sarah Palin has been transformed from oil’s political antagonist to a potential ally at the national level. Whatever the election’s outcome, Big Oil wins in Alaska and Alaskans are, forever, the losers.
