Poker-faced Enzyte maker caught bluffing

Bob The man behind Enzyte is facing more than 20 years in prison and millions in forfeited revenue after a federal jury found him guilty Friday of conspiracy to commit mail fraud, bank fraud and money laundering. You might remember the “natural male enhancement” pill from its creepy Smiling Bob ads. And while whistling and painful grinning might not be illegal, false advertising and unauthorized charges sure are. According to the Associated Press, “Prosecutors claimed customers were bilked out of $100 million through a series of deceptive ads, manipulated credit card transactions and the company’s refusal to accept returns or cancel orders.” Steve Warshak, the founder and president of Enzyte distributor Berkeley Premium Nutraceuticals, was convicted along with his mother.
