Milk Powder Will Never Be The Same Again

The melamine scare has been traced to be present in powdered substances such as powdered milk. If you haven’t seen it yet, melamine is really hard to identify unless you use laboratory equipment to dissect the contents. In short, all milk powder today need the certification of local food authorities to clear their name, especially if the product comes from China.

So with that in mind, the demand for milk powder products has obviously declined. The melamine scare has been dying down and concentrated on Chinese products. While the China made consumer goods are obviously being shelved, the awareness for other products that may have outsourced from China continues. Will these milk products ever get the nod of consumer confidence again?

Melamine, a substance illicitly added to watered-down milk to artificially boost its protein count, has led to the deaths of at least three babies; at least 53,000 other children have fallen ill.
