Mars links with IBM to decode the chocolate genome

LONDON – Mars will announced today a five-year project to sequence and analyze the entire cocoa genome, according to a report in the New York Times. The aim it to not only protect cocoa plants from tropical diseases, pests and climate change, but to possibly enhance the flavour of chocolate.
