Lung Cancer Claims Legendary Paul Newman

1987 Oscar Best Actor Paul Newman died last Friday as he succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 83. Newman was an icon in the showbiz industry, appearing in popular movies like “The Color of Money”, “The Hustler” and “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kids”. He won an Oscar for Best Actor in 1987 for the Color of Money which he starred opposite Tom Cruise.

He is survived by his second wife, Joanne Woodward to whom he had 3 children. Outside acting he had his own company, Newman’s Own, providing a line of food products including salad dressing, salsa, and lemonade. He retired in May 2007 and the latest gig that he will be best remembered was lending his voice in the Walt Disney hit “Cars”.
